For Sale a beautiful Art Glass Scarab Paperweight. The Blue Aurene Iridescent or Luster is just outstanding. The Scarab is 4 3/8" long, 3 1/8" wide, and is 1 1/2" tall. The Paperweight Displays a Scarab with a very detailed Ribbed back that is separated by a smooth shell behind the head. You can see beautiful Blue/Pruple iridescent along with some hues of Fuchsia. The Scarab has a metallic look, yet it is glass. The Base color of the Glass is a very deep cobalt blue.
Tiffany Studio's produced smaller versions to decorate their large Floral Leaded Glass Shades. Tiffany also used a version similar to this in some of his Table Lamps and Shades. Instead of being a solid piece of glass the inside was hollow as to allow for a socket to house a bulb to illuminate it. True Glass was first developed by the ancient Egyptians to imitate the semi-precious stones used extensively in their artwork. It was often cast in shapes such as the Scarab for use as Amulets and Good Luck Charms. The Egyptians associated the Scarab Beetle with the creator god Khepri, the symbol of Birth and Eternal Life. This Art Glass Scarab is an example of the original Egyptian Scarabs.
The piece has minimal wear to the bottom and is considered Excellent to Mint condition. The paper weight has no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The piece is unsigned and I believe it is of contemporary make. This is a must buy for anyone who collects Scarabs or Paper Weights. The paper weight weighs about 1 1/2 pounds and I am sure should if a gust of wind came along you will not loose your paper work. Purchase with confidence as this will enhance any Art Glass Collection. « Less

For Sale is a wonderful piece of Art Glass made by Josef Rindskopf of Bohemia which is now modern day Czech Republic. The Item is call a"Dunkelviolettes Glas" " Art Glass Flower Vase. The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 7 1/8" tall and 4 1/4" in diameter at the top diagonal measurement. The foot of the vase has a diameter of 3 7/8".
The Vase displays a thumbprint form with a 4 fold (Quatrefoil) top lip. The bottom of the vase is bulbous and has 3 (Thumbprint) Style indents in the glass. The Elongated cylindrical neck rises up from the bulbous bottom to form a Flower Form top lip. The base glass is Purple or deep Amethyst. The Iridescence is brilliant as you can see. There are strong hues of Purples. Blues, Silver and Fuchsia. The decoration is like waves along the bottom and the pattern going vertical and horizontal in the column towards the top lip.

This is a well documented form from the Rindskopf reference material and is guaranteed to be as such.
This is a Beautiful hand made Vase. This is a Rare size. I have found the 9-13" ones many times through the years. This is the first on of these in this 7" size. For Sale is a wonderful piece of Art Glass made by Josef Rindskopf of Bohemia which is now modern day Czech Republic. I call this pattern line a Bulbous Double Gourd Bud Vase. The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 8 9/16" tall and 3 1/2" in diameter at the top at the bottom Gourd. The foot of the vase has a diameter of 2 3/4".
The Vase displays a wonderful Double Gourd Form with a long neck to receive a long stem Rose. It has a molded bottom with a raised vertical zipper like pattern that surrounds the entire bulbous bottom. The glass composition is similar to Loetz's silberiris decor but I feel much prettier. The Bud Vase bleeds from the top a wonderful Teal Green and getting ever so lighter as it works it way down to the Bulbous bottom. Then green transitions into a lime green and a Cypriot type textured yellow at the bottom. The entire Vase has iridescence to it with the top showing a deep purple blue iridescence unlit.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Vase has a polished top rim with no pontil on the bottom. This means the Vase was blown from the top into a mold and cut and polished. The Vase is unsigned as is the case with Rindskopf Art Glass Vessels. This Vase more than likely had a paper label at one time. This is documented decor from the Rindskopf but this is the first time I have ever seen it on this shape and with this glass composition.
This is a Beautiful hand made Vase and quite Rare to find. I have been dealing in Art Glass for almost 40 years and this is the first time I have ever had this form with this pattern. Subsequently I would consider this a Rare piece. I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This Vase was made at the turn of the century, Circa 1900-1910. « Less

For Sale is a lovely vase made by Thomas Webb & Sons of Amblecote near Stourbridge, England. I would call this shape a double handled squat form. The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 3 1/4" tall and has a diameter of 5" in diameter outside handles measurement. The bottom of the vase has a diameter of 2 5/8".
The base glass is green in color. The exterior Blue Purple Iridescent treatment on the glass makes it look more like a Teal Green base Glass. This Vase has wonderfully applied ear shaped handles with deep scalloped tails. The top rim rolls out and comes all the way back in and rolls over and is fire polished. The vase displays a very beautiful rainbow colored iridescence with Blues, Purples and Fuchsia tones throughout. It is very European in design and shape.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. One tail looks to have been nicked at the very bottom. When you turn the vase upside down it appears to be factory because the tails are exactly the same length on each side. This Vase has a counter sunk polished Pontil. This is the sign of a quality piece of Art Glass. The Vase is very clean inside and shows virtually minimal signs of use. The outer bottom border shows minor scratches. It appears to have been a Cabinet piece most if not all of its life.
This is a Lovely cabinet Vase that is not so commonly found. This style of vase was made to copy the Roman bronze pieces that were often dug up and were about 2,000 years old. You Thomas Webb collectors will welcome this fine addition into your collection. This Vase was made during the Victorian Era circa 1878-1885.
Here is a little bit of history about Thomas Webb's Bronze Ware Vessels.
Bronze glass. This is an iridescent glass made by Webb. It was exhibited in Paris in 1878, and there was a dispute with Richardsons on the iridescent patent. Richardson continued making it's own iridescent glass, despite saying that it would stop. Webbs bronze was referred to as Green Bronze in their pattern books, so it has been suggested that the body of the glass is green. Sometimes the vases had applied handles, snakes and lizards, lion masks, trails, plus etched decoration, hieroglyphics and gilding. « Less

For Sale is a lovely vase made by Thomas Webb & Sons of Amblecote near Stourbridge, England. This shape is a Flower Form or Floriform known as a Jack in the Pulpit Vase. The Vase has some size to it as it stands 10 7/8" tall. The face has a diameter of 5 3/4" and the foot has a diameter of 2 7/8".
This Flower Form shows three colors. It has a Cranberry with white opalescence Face blown into a clear green base glass. It sits on a round foot that is also a clear green in color. There is a clear green stem that rises up from the round foot and meet the cranberry glass about half way up the stem. The face of the Pulpit has an outstanding Ruffled border with the top and bottom of the face displaying pulled points. The Cranberry Stem that rises up from the clear green stem from the foot has very vertical fine ribbing. The white opalescence on the back side outer edges give this beautiful piece of Art Glass its added appeal.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. This vase is made the same way and has the same quality level of L.C.T. Tiffany Favrile and Steuben Glass. This piece of art glass predates these two outstanding American Glass Houses. The vase is unsigned and it displays a rough Pontil. This Vase is very clean inside and out and it is quite light in weight. It is extremely delicate and it is amazing that this has survived over 130 years without any damage. It shows very little signs of use. The outer bottom border shows minor scratches. It appears to have been a Cabinet piece most if not all of its life.
This is a lovely flower form vase that is not so commonly found. It was made during the Victorian era and I'm quite sure it influenced both Tiffany and Steuben Glass houses in America into making their own. This style of vase was made to resemble the Jack in the Pulpit Flower. This wonder vase was made, Circa 1870-1885. « Less

For Sale is a nice carnival glass Ruffled Sauce Bowl made by The Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, PA. The pattern is called "Cherry" and is a Amethyst base color glass. The Bowl measures 2" tall and is 5 3/4" wide.
The bowl depicts clusters of stemmed cherries hanging from a wreath of stippled leaves and branches on the interior. The iridescence is brilliant and wonderful as you can see vivid hues of Blue, Teal, Fuchsia on a strong Gold background. The edge of the bowl is ruffled with 8 ruffles, not the typical 6 that is more commonly found. According to the Carnival Glass Collectors these 8 Ruffles are Rare and quite hard to find. The exterior of the bowl is known as "Jeweled Heart" and is without iridescence.
The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no nicks, chips or dings. The only issue is some minor pooling of the iridescence on the inside flat bottom and this is pictured. This was quite common in the fuming, heating and cooling process and is not after manufacturing damage.
This piece was made circa 1909-1914. « Less

For Sale is a beautiful piece of carnival glass made by the Millersburg Glass Company of Holmes County, Ohio. The shape is a Spooner and the pattern is "Hanging Cherries". More »
For Sale is a beautiful piece of carnival glass made by the Millersburg Glass Company of Holmes County, Ohio. The shape is a Spooner and the pattern is "Hanging Cherries". The Spooner measures 4" tall and is 6 1/4" in diameter outside handle measurement. The vessel without the handles measures 3 13/16" in diameter.
The Spooner depicts very detailed clusters of hanging cherries from branches and stippled leaves that are realistic with attention to the veining and serrated edges. The piece has two molded handles and is finished with a soft scalloped edge to the top rim. It has a collar base and smooth interior. The iridescence on this Spooner is excellent as you can see vivid colors of Gold, Blue, Purple, and Teal on the exterior and interior. This is considered to be a Radium finish. The iridescence on this piece is stunning.
This Spooner is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. All the teeth on the top border are damage free, not even a flea nick. The mold is crisp and the detail in the leaves is outstanding. There are some mold imperfections like straw marks but nothing obtrusive. The piece is not signed but the pattern is a well documented Millersburg pattern.
The Spooner was created in the Victorian era as many people did not have enough silverware for each place setting. The hostess or homemaker would place the vessel in the middle of the table with water and spoons in it so the guests could share their spoons and rinse after each use. The more affluent family would display these regularly on their table with silver spoons in them to show their hospitality. This is a very collectible table accessory that was made in many different mediums of glass, pottery, metal and silver.
Millersburg Glass Company began construction in 1908 by John W. Fenton after breaking away from the Fenton Art Glass Company where he and his brothers, Frank and Charles, were partners. He began glass production in May of 1909 however the company filed for bankruptcy in 1911 most likely due to his lack of business experience and remote location. John was noted for his extravagance and attention to detail in his workmanship making Millersburg some of the most desirable carnival glass available. I have also read that Black Cherries were John's favorite fruit and several of the trees planted on the property surrounding the factory. He would sometimes have his workers climb the trees and break off a branch for him to study and work on his patterns.
The Spooner was made Circa 1909-1911. « Less

For Sale is a very nice piece of Carnival Glass made by The Northwood Glass Company of Wheeling, West Virginia. The Shape is known as a "Hatpin Holder" and it is done in the very popular "Grape and Cable" pattern. The Hatpin Holder stands 6 5/8" tall and is 2 3/4" in diameter at the feet. The top of the Hatpin Holder is 2 1/2".
The Hatpin Holder is made from a beautiful base glass of Amethyst or Purple. The Iridescence is just beautiful. You can see deep rich Purple/Blue iridescence along with Fuchsia and Gold. The Hatpin Holder displays a very lovely Pattern of Raised Grapes and Leaves that hang from Vine that surrounds the piece. The Bunches of Grapes are large and plentiful. There are Leaves that separate these Vertical Clusters giving this piece some balance. The Veining in the Leaves is just outstanding. You can also see the fine Stippling in the Leaves and this adds more Value to the piece. Just above these Vertical Leaves is a Band that surrounds the lower neck. These are grooves in the Band to simulate a Cable, thus the name "Grape and Cable. The Vase is supported by 3 nicely applied Ribbed Spatula shaped feet.
The Hatpin Holder is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is minor roughness on two of the feet. I believe this was caused when the Hatpin Holder was removed from the mold as the roughness is right on the seam. This is Not Damage and considered Factory made. This is a very nice Hatpin Holder with Strong Detail and good Iridescence. These were once Plentiful during the Victorian Era but a 100 years later they are seldom seen in this condition. The piece is signed with the underlined N in a circle Northwood mold mark.
These were originally part of a Dresser Set for Ladies. I'm sure the buyer will be quite pleased with their purchase. This piece was made Circa 1910-1920. « Less
