A very rare offering. This beautiful Ventures Mosrite guitar was hand built by Semi Mosley at Jonas Ridge, NC in 1986. It was the 49th guitar that he built that year and A very rare offering. This beautiful Ventures Mosrite guitar was hand built by Semie Moseley at Jonas Ridge, NC in 1986. It was the 49th guitar that he built that year and signed by him on the back of the headstock in 1987. Semie did not sell it and put it aside as an excellent example of one of the last reissue Mosrite Ventures he made. It was part of his personal collection when he passed away in 1992. It is in new condition and an extremely rare chance to own a “new†Ventures Mosrite. You will not see a better condition vintage Mosrite guitar for sale.
During Semie Mosley’s last production years at Jonas Ridge, NC guitar production went on very slowly. Semie often worked alone and often completed only a few guitars a week. Semie had his ups and downs in the business; bankruptcy, moving to several locations and a car accident that nearly lost him his leg. During his years at Jonas Ridge, NC he had struggled to continue his guitar manufacturing and through a local college program, contracted a business backer that became a close and personal friend of Semie and his wife Loretta.
When Semie passed away this friend purchased 5 of Semie’s guitars from Loretta to remember him by. Even though he did not play guitar he kept the 5 guitars for over 20 years in memory of his friend Semie. Then in his senior years he decided it was time to pass them along to musicians who will enjoy them and play them again.
As a musician and guitar collector, I was fortunate to buy the 5 guitars as a collection.
This guitar is mint, new, museum quality. I have played it half dozen times in my home, so, upon close examination, you will see in reflected light where the strings kissed the frets.
This guitar was made using the same materials and same specifications as the 60’s originals with 2 important differences:
1. This was entirely hand built by Semie himself, not manufactured under assembly line, factory conditions, as the 60’s originals were. In my opinion, this is a higher quality instrument than the originals.
2. An important improvement: The fret-board is wider than the original 1960’s Ventures. It is 3/16†wider all the way down making it easier to play clean open cords and easier for extreme string bending.
It is truly a spiritual experience to play this guitar. You will really feel the vibes. She plays and sounds awesome.
I am including, as provenance, copies of the following documents I received when I purchased the guitar:
1. A one page letter written by Semie's partner address to me explaining his relation with Semi and listing the 5 guitars with descriptions and serial numbers of each.
2. A 2 page business contract (September 1989) between Semie and his partners and signed by all parties.
3. 4 Various letters (1990's) from the Mosrite Company, pertaining to expenses an guitar production, to Semie's partner, signed by Loretta.
4. A period Mosrite Guitars business card.
If you want the best of the best Mosrite Ventures and a high quality instrument that will last a lifetime, this is it.
Comes with her plush lined case in new condition and original hang tags.

A very scarce and beautifully designed early 80’s, Peavey Mystic, made in USA, in a striking lipstick red color, in like new condition, with original case, a virtual time capsule!!!
A very well made and a very versatile guitar, powerful twin blade humbucker pickups, coil splitting, tremolo system, 23 fret fretboard, and string through body construction.
I bought this one several years ago at nearly twice the going price because of her condition and as an investment piece. I played her once, loosened the strings, wiped her off, placed a piece of white paper towel between the neck and case, put her away and forgot about her till I just saw a you tube vid of one just like her and said, hey I have an even nicer example of that one!!!
So here she is!
Guitar is as nice as any new guitar you will see hanging in a guitar store with just extremely minimal handling wear from being picked up and played only a few times. Finish is perfect with no checking, cracks or chips. Action is low and neck is perfectly straight. The german built Sperzel tuners are all like new and function flawlessly. The case is near mint. There is just a small red surface stain in the back of the neck from kissing the case. Every one of these guitars that has its original case has this stain. Some owners buff them off. I tend to leave things as is.
If you want the very best of the best, top collector quality, investment grade example of this very radical designed guitar, you have found her!
Easy playing and great sounding! Very comfortable sitting or standing. Everything works as new and entire guitar is nearly new!
You may find others examples of this very scarce guitar at lesser prices elsewhere BUT NO WHERE NEAR THE CONDITION THIS ONE IS IN. THIS ONE IS A GEM!
Here is a link to that mentioned you tube vid, the gent does not play very well, but you will get the idea.

Extreme rarity, circa 1967-8 Standel E-60, acoustic guitar; all mahogany!
Beautifully made Stan Koontz / Standel made in Newark, New Jersey for Standel Co., El Monte, CA, at the Harptone factory. Guitar has the famous tall Koontz / Standel / Harptone designed headstock and did I say, all mahogany!
This is the only one I have ever seen and may be the rarest Standel acoustic ever made.
Sides, back and neck are all made of mahogany WITH A GORGEOUS SOLID AFRICAN MAHOGANY TOP! Beautifully grained rosewood fret-board!
Now try to top that!!!
Overall excellent vintage condition with overall finish checking and light play wear. Great neck, low action and excellent frets. She has an amazing sound, very old time and great for blues, country and hillbilly, yes even hillbilly music!
There is a very thin line of what looks like glue residue along the top edge of the bridge indicating that it was probably re-glued at some time during its working life, but absolutely no damage or lifting of bridge or top, see photos.
Tuners are original and all work perfectly.
Comes with a newer hard-shell case in very good condition.

An extremely rare 1960’s Stiles double pick-up electric bass guitar. I have seen a handful of these Stiles bass guitars over the years, but this is the only double More »
An extremely rare 1960’s Stiles double pick-up electric bass guitar. I have seen a handful of these Stiles bass guitars over the years, but this is the only double pick-up version I have ever seen. These guitars were entirely hand built by (Gilbert) Lee Stiles in his Hialeah, Florida workshop. Stiles is also known for building fine furniture and grandfather clocks.
This bass guitar is made with a solid walnut body and solid mahogany neck, It is beautifully hand carved with scroll “horns†and a sexy, curvy body. The headstock also terminates in a carved scroll design. The guitar’s body, back of neck and headstock were once repainted blue over the original stained mahogany finish. The paint was stripped and she is now finished in clear gloss leaving the beauty and color of the natural walnut and mahogany show. Fortunately the fret-board was never refinished and has beautifully aged with time and has its original frets in excellent condition. The intricately inlaid fret-board is comprised of about 20 different sections of maple, walnut and mahogany composing about 140 various geometric shapes (rectangles, squares and half circles)! Truly the work of a master craftsman.
Guitar is in excellent structural condition with no cracks or repairs. Her original electronics are entirely intact, just as Lee Stiles installed them, see photo. The wiring is a work of art itself. Shielded wiring, a grounding/shielding plate above the pots and just look at those capacitors, giving a wide range of tones. Each pick-up has 4 adjusting screws. Each end can be lowered or raised. Each pick-up can be tilted forward or back and even “twisted†diagonally. You just don’t see this quality in guitars now-a-days. All electronics function as they should! See photo.
It appears that at one time a previous owner lost a bridge saddle adjusting screw, making the height impossible to adjust. (I surmise that because one of the saddle screws was replaced. It is a blackened steel as opposed to the others (same size and same height though). He probably was not able to locate a correct replacement screw so he used a makeshift bridge over passing the original saddles. It was not there when I bought the guitar, but there were 4 small screw holes in the pick guard (not into the wood beneath) that are filled with what looks to be black epoxy where the bridge must have sat, close-up photo available. Otherwise the original pick-guard is excellent overall with no cracks.
Her original Kluson tuners are still completely intact. They were cleaned and oiled and all work well with no bent shafts.
A great addition to any vintage guitar “stable†she hugs the body, balances extremely well and only weighs about 6 lbs. 9 oz.
This guitar is a work of art, a nice vintage player and a very important piece of 1960’s American guitar craftsmanship!
Comes with a new Gibson USA gig-bag.

A very rare 1962-3 English Vox Dominator, 1st production model in bright “retro-redâ€!!!
Beautiful all original, rare early side-jack model in excellent overall condition. Just normal finish checking, one scratch on back and minimal fret wear.
This early model still has its original phone jack. Most people convert these to ¼†jacks by drilling out the hole for the phone jack larger and adding a jack plate and standard ¼†plug.
However, this is unnecessary and a simple standard phone plug that can be bought at Radio Shack for under $10. can be used with a quick and simple modification, see photo.
Excellent vintage player at a very affordable price. Low action, straight neck and great frets.
A historically important and very collectable early English Vox!
Comes with her original black cloth carry-bag.

An extremely rare 1985 Gibson, Les Paul, Spirit II XLP 400, ebony; made only in 1985!
In my opinion, the best and most versatile Les Paul style Gibson guitar ever built. A state of the art, beautifully designed and expertly engineered piece of rock 'n roll machinery.
She is a black beauty, hard rocking, killer machine in excellent overall condition with a hockey stick headstock, Grover tuners, locking string nut, a wide ebony fretboard, beautifully aged binding, carved top, double cut-a-ways, super hot pickups, both single coil and humbucker, coil taps and a Gibson-Floyd Rose tremolo system. All combined into that great vintage Les Paul feel. Gibson threw everything they had into this model and it was only manufactured in 1985! She plays like a dream! She has average play wear, straight neck, low action and excellent frets. There are 2 small areas, one on each side of the headstock wrist, where she probably was on a guitar stand that interacted with her nitro finish, that were touched up long ago. Hard to notice unless you look for it, closeup photos available. She is beautifully aged with some very fine finish checking and a beautiful mellow yellow, even aging to all binding!
A very rare and a very hesitant offering.
Comes with a new, high quality, form fitting hard-shell case. It is heavy, so postage will be a little more.
