These are two panel swinging doors. Each panel is 14 1/2" wide, 72" tall, and 1 1/2" thick. Included with these doors is matching trim. The curved piece on the left side of a couple of the pictures gets installed and matches the curve of the tops of the doors. The carving on these doors is very detailed. The doors are symmetrical. The paint is also very rich. The primary colors are red and gold, with green, yellow, and orange. These doors are rabbited so the edges close flush with one another. The timbers used to install these doors are made from 3" X 6" beams. These would look fantastic in a stylish home. The buyer will need to arrange to have these doors picked up, or I will deliver them for free within 25 miles of Union, Maine. Cost of shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser.   « Less

You are viewing an exquisite pair of bronze female blackamoor torcheres that stand in at an impressive five and a half feet tall. I hope the photos do this fine pair some justice, they are certainly more impressive in the flesh. They have been cast from the finest bronze which has a wonderful patina - gold for the dress and the bowl they hold up and black or their bodies and heads. They also stand on a circular white marble pedestal base. These really are an impressive pair and would look great as part of your home interiors scheme. They would look great in a hall or entrance foyer. The casting is superb, the artist has really caught the beauty and poise of the females with great skill. Observe details like their facial features and the wonderful way their dresses have been rendered. They each hold a gold bowl aloft and they are a perfect pair. We bought these from an architectural salvage company in Regents Park after they were originally bought from a local residence. We suspect they may originally be French in origin although we do not know the foundry they were cast in. They are both offered in perfect condition ready for home use right away and we will ship these to anywhere in the world. Dimensions are in inches: 66 x 18 x 16   « Less

Description: You are viewing a gorgeous Italian bronze casting of Mercury - the messenger of the Gods in Roman mythology. The piece stands in at 4.5 feet tall so he's quite a large statue - a perfect collection to any interior. He stands on the face of a head and this is obviously relevant to the myth. The patina is wonderful and this is offered in great shape ready for home dispaly right away. Mercury (mythology), in Roman mythology, messenger of the gods, the son of the god Jupiter and of Maia, the daughter of the Titan Atlas. Mercury was also the god of merchants and of trading and shared many of the attributes of the Greek god Hermes. The worship of Mercury was introduced into Rome in 495 bc when a temple was dedicated to him near the Circus Maximus. His festival was celebrated on May 15. He was well known as the "Conductor of Souls" and was qualified to control the souls of the dead and guide them to Hades, the underworld. He is depicted in mythological art wearing a broad- beamed hat and the sandals of a traveler, with wings attached to both, and his magic wand in his hand.
