This is a finely carved nude figure of an adult Chinese women that was traditionally used by Chinese doctors to aid in patient diagnosis as it was forbidden to touch a women, even for medical purposes. This elegant reclining nude figure has bound feet and long delicate fingers. She is wearing a simple bracelet on each wrist. Her hair is pulled into a tight knot. Her hair and her eyes have been lightly colored black. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate. Very fine original condition. Complete with wooden base. 10" long x 2 3/4" wide. « Less

This large, superb, ivory snuff bottle is in the form of a fine Chinese lady, probably Han, holding a shrine in her left hand against her breast and a huge peony flower in her right hand. She is elaborately dressed and coiffed. She has tiny deep red lips and is wearing black eyeliner. Chinese Cloisonne ginger jar. This is a handsome example of the Chinese craftsmanship that was popular in the west in the early 20th century. It has a black back round with geometric brass inlay and many brightly colored flowers and other good examples of Asian motifs. It is in good original condition with no dents or loss of enamel although it does show it's age in some wear to the body and some waviness to the brass ring around the cover. Hand painted Chinese ginger jar. Made for export, this early 20th century covered ginger jar is very nicely decorated with a scene of what I believe is men and women dancing. There are trees and insects, bushes and a bridge. There is a single man sitting on the cover. All the art is done in bright, child like pastel colors that some times stray from the lines. The back round color is an antique white. Altogether a charming example of Asian porcelain. Marked "China" on the base. Very good original condition. An extremely rare, late 19th / early 20th Century Chinese ivory tusk carving on a custom made black marble octagonal base. Measuring 45.5" in Height and about 6" Wide without the base, The base is H: 5.75" X L:10" X W: 7.5".
