We have for sale a black forest carving. This piece is very old. I do know it is every bit of 70 years old or older, but I do not know the exact age or date. We have not seen one like this. The horse is rared up with a rider on his back with a sword in his hand. There is a man laying on the ground with the horses hoofs over him. The horse has an issue with his back legs. They have cracks and also one front leg has a crack. The rider is missing a thumb along with the man on the ground. It weighs 2 pounds and measures 14 x 6 x 12.75, the rider measures 9.25 x 3.625 x 3.25, the horse on base 8 x 6 x 12.75. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested. Beautiful antique carved alabaster sculpture artist signed M.A. Maffei. This artist is listed as an Italian sculptor working in the early 1900's. The sculpture depicts a beautiful sculptured Putto sitting on a rock work base, One hand holds the fountain. The fountain head is a half man/half wolf mythological face that has water flowing from its mouth. The Putto is washing his foot in the water. The sculpture can be adapted to be used as a lamp. The fountain has a hole drilled thru the center, and the column to the right of the Putto is removable making it easy for adaption to lighting. Weight 20 lbs. The sculpture measures 16-1/2 inches high, and 7-3/4 inches widest width. The Putto by itself measures 11 inches from the bottom of the foot to the top of its head. Rare and unusual very high quality and lifelike Orientalist sculptured and painted Terracotta head. The head depicts a bearded Orientalist man with a turban. From the bottom of his neck to the top of his headpiece he measures 12 inches. From the tip of his nose to the back of his head he measures 9 inches. The head is life-size. The back has a hanging metal ring allowing it to be hung on a wall. It hangs flush against the wall and actually looks alive. It has a few minor chips on the back where it meets the wall, unseen when it is hung on the wall. This is a rare item dating circa 1900. Rare antique Terracotta black boy smoking a cigar. The bottom on the underside is numbered 4914 and marked BB. The sculpture is in mint condition with almost all of its original cold paint patina finish intact. It dates circa 1900. This is a very rare and beautifully sculptured Black Americana Collectible item. He measures 8 inches from his hand to the back of his foot. Widest width 3 inches from his shoulder to his elbow. Extraordinary carved wood parasol handle artist signed in the original 19th century fitted case. It is a beautiful sculpture depicting a partially nude lady wearing only shoes and holding a robe to modestly cover her front. She has carved flowers draped along her back. Above her a carved cherub holding flowers. What really makes this a unique sculpture is the fact that the upper portion is a normal cherub with wings and from the waist down he has the body of a goat or satyr. This is a unique sculpture. It is in superb original condition dating circa mid to late 1800's. The parasol handle measures 6-3/4 inches high and 1-1/8 inches wide at its widest point. The original 19th century leather wrapped velvet and silk lined case has the original lock. The case measures 7-1/2 inches long, 1-3/4 inches high and 1-1/2 inches wide. The bust measures 13 inches high not including the wooden base, 7 inches widest width. The wooden base measures 1-3/4 inches high by 6-1/2 inches wide by 6-3/8 inches deep.
