Heavy chain necklace made from two fob chains, joined together. (Single fob chains are generally too short to make up a necklace). The lower chain is a graduated curb link ending in a parrot's beak clasp. All links are stamped 375 (9ct gold). Chains would date from late 19th century to early 20th century. The upper chain is a fancy curb-link, with an O ring joiner. No clasp, pull over the head to put it on. Total length of chain is 68 cm plus the pendant carrier clasp, which is 3 cm long. Top chain is 9 mm wide graduating to 7 mm, lower chain graduates from 7.5 mm wide to 5 mm wide. Excellent condition. TW is 60.4g.   « Less

18ct gold four stone ring, mounted with three sapphires and two diamonds. This lovely ring would date from early 20th century, maker is Willam J Holmes, of Birmingham, England. The mount is hand finished, cast made. The two diamonds are grain set, old European cut of approx. 3.5 to 3.7mm by 2.5 to 2.6 mm. They are estimated to total 0.40carats. We have a valuation on this ring, and the diamonds are assessed as Good old make, F-H colour, I1-I2 clarity. The three sapphires are grain set, round mixed cut - one is approx. 4.3 mm and the other two are 2 - 3.2 mm diameter. They are estimated to total 0.60 carats and are dark violetish blue of very good quality. Condition: The sapphires have abraded crowns, commensurate with age and having been worn. One diamond is loose in the setting, but appears to be secure. The shank is slightly out of round - it has been sized at some stage, this having cut the date letter off the hallmark. This is a lovely, ring, and looks fabulous against a plain wedding band. The ring fitting is UK size O (USA size 7) with an internal diameter of 17.5 mm. The ring face measures 6.5 mm by 18 mm. Shank at rear of finger measures 3 mm. TW: 5g. The valuation report (which will be provided to the purchaser) gives a new comparison value of NZ$3500.00, and a Used Retail Market Value of NZ$1400.00. Victorian 19th century brooch with panel under glass containing a floral picture made from hair - neatly curled or cut into leaves and flowers and mounted onto a white background, possibly mica. Ornate rolled gold surround. Brooch measures 4 cm by 4.7 cm. Basically in very good condition.
