Glossy jet bracelet with a well carved face of two entwined rings with bow, and alternating panels of Greek key design and carved geometric designs. (Whitby jet: carbon-containing fossilised wood, like coal). Expanding bracelet, Victorian, circa 1880s. One minor chip to top of a geometric panel, otherwise perfect. Bracelet is 3.3 cm deep at the front, and 3.7 cm deep on the sides and rear. Probably originally a piece of mourning jewellery. « Less

Victorian ring, made in 18ct gold and mounted with 3 diamonds and two rubies. Hallmarked for 18ct gold, Birmingham (UK), 1890. Maker is S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd. Ring face measures 13 mm wide by 5.5 mm. The central diamond is approx. 2-2.5 mm diameter. Rubies are about 2 mm diameter, and the two side diamonds are tiny little stones. The shoulders of the ring are 4 mm, tapering to about 1.75 mm at the rear of the finger. Ring fitting is UK size Q (USA size 8) with an internal diameter of 18.19 mm. Very good condition. « Less

Brushed gold mourning or sweetheart brooch with rope and ball work to the face and a raised oval mount containing a flower head picked out in seed pearls and a central little ruby. The use of these stones would have symbolism - pearls were for tears. Floral motifs were romantic. The rear has an oval panel with what could either be fabric or very tightly woven blond hair - under glass. Body of brooch is hallmarked for 9ct gold, made in Birmingham, 1902. Maker's mark is C & Co. Brooch measures 4.2 cm by 1.6 cm.

Late 1800s gold locket with Masonic symbols on one side, and a pretty pattern of flowers on the other. No hallmark, but tests as approx. 15ct gold. Oval, hinged locket measures 28 mm by 23 mm (not including the suspension ring) and is 8 mm thick. Inside is empty but could accommodate two photos. From the inside, at the area where the dividers are engraved on the outside, there appears to be a penetration of the gold. However, this can't be seen on the outside. Otherwise, very good condition. Unusual locket, and makes a very pretty pendant. TW: 3.86g. « Less
