Early 18TH. Century Kangxi Period Chinese Export Porcelain Mug/Tankard in Very Good Condition with No Damage. It appears not to have any restoration. This beautiful little Chinese blue and white porcelain mug/tankard of cylindrical form with a open ear-shaped handle, Kangxi period, Circa 1700-1720. This fine little tavern mug closely parallels the shape of English tankards with it's beautiful handle and ribbed base. Height of this mug is 3 1/3" and the diameter at the opening is 2 1/2"   « Less

WATTS was a engraver from Medford, Mass. This is a wonderful scene of a Moose in water with a flock of geese with a beautiful sunset and mountains in the background. I can just imagine how breathtaking the original painting by Landseer was. He was a extremely great and Very Well Listed artist in the early 1800's. The dimension of this engraving is 28" X 13 1/4". Circa 1850 Very Unusual Pair of Chinese Export Mandarin Bough Pots without original covers. Although the original covers are missing there are tin inserts that have been custom made for these bough pots. These pots are not exact pairs as you can see by the images differ slightly. The Quality of the decoration is Excellent and were probably made for the European Market. They measure 8" in height and 5" in width at the top opening. William Abbott Cheever. 20TH Century Painter Scene is painted on 20" X 40" Panel and the frame measurements are 48" X 28 1/2". Painter's addresses are in Maine and Massachusetts. Exhibited PAFA, 1948-1960. Sources: Falk. PAFA,VOLUME 3. Wonderful Painting in Excellent Condition. No Restoration. The images will tell the story. A lot of painting for the money. Cheever was born in 1907 and died in 1986. He was living in Amherst,New Hampshire when he died. We recently came across this information and more info to follow from a acquaintance of his. Cheever was doing covers for the National Sportsman Magazine when he was a teenager. Those works of art are as good as Phillip Goodwins that are presently selling for six-figures. He also studied with Philip Hale, traveled to the Hebrides on a Museum School scholarship and taught later at the Boston Museum School and at Phillips Academy in Andover. His accomplishments are long and varied. He even mentioned to his friend that he did a mural for a MacDonald's Restaurant at one point in his life. Also a lady from Virginia whom is researching Cheever and is seeking information on Cheever, tells me that he painted the New Deal muural in a post office in Smithfield, Va. He also did two others in New England. We will contact Sonny, a customer of mine in Chinese and Japanese Export Porcelain, who lives in Smithfield and retired from Smithfield Packing. Their is nothing like a "SMITHFIELD HAM".   « Less

Circa 1880 Chinese Export Blue and White Ginger jar measuring 8" in height. This ginger jars has the original cover. We have also mounted it on a rosewood base and have had it electrified and have also included the harp, shade and a finial to be converted into a table lamp. Total height to top of shade is 24" and 26" to the top of the finial. We will be adding a line of solid brass finials to our web site shortly. This ginger jar is not the true canton or nanking design and was made for the oriental taste and not that of the western world. It is known as Double Happiness. There are many out in the market place that are new but we guarantee ours to be 100 years old. They fit in with all the types of blue and white that is very popular and make a very useful and decorative lamp. We have two of these Double Happiness lamps in our inventory at this time which can be purchased separately or would make a nice pair at 2X the individual price. Also you can search thru our site as we have just purchased many original blue canton jars of this same form and in all different sizes and they all have been converted into table lamps.   « Less
