The back of the painting contains the information of the clipper ship which sailed from Liverpool, England to New York which took 13 days and 10 1/2 hours according to the document attached to the back of the painting as shown in image #7.   « Less

Thomas Moran, American Artist Born in 1837 and Died in 1926. Very well listed artist who's works are vastly sought after. This is a Colored Lithograph, now laid down on paper, signed within the print and with a additional pencil signature and title to large paper. Frame size is 21 3/4" X 25 3/4". Titles 'Rock Towers of Rio Virgin". Good Condition with only frame having losses at corners and the paper is slightly yellowed. This lithograph by Moran is done very well as are mostly all of his works. The only issues are the damage to the original frame with losses at the corners.   « Less

Late 19th Century Pair of East Coast Nautical Ship Paintings that are fresh out of a house in the Newport, Rhode Island Area. These paintings appears to date from the Late 19th Century. They are not signed. Frames appear to be original Each painting measures 5" X 7" and are framed in 8 1/2" X 10" Frames. Although the frames are original, a modern piece of trim was added to the outside edge. Very Good Condition with No Restoration. Nice small nautical paintings are hard to find. They would fit in the right setting almost anywhere, especially together.   « Less

20TH Century Artist David Tayler known for his Mid-Atlantic to Cape Cod Paintings. Tayler was born in Massachusetts in 1968. He is a modern day painter who still paints and the fact that he was raised within sight of the ocean is evident in most of his paintings. His work depicts all facets of coastal areas and marine subjects. Previous painting of his that we have owned and sold have been sailing ships, in different versions, such as single,double, triple and J Class. This is the first in a steamship that I have seen or even heard that he has painted. He has in the past studied famous artists in the different sailing ship that are well known artist. This painting he apparently has been studying earlier steamship artists such as Antonio Jacobsen. This painting is very well done and is Custom Framed in a Beautiful New Molded Frame. The measurements of the canvas is 24" X 20" and the frame measurements are 32 1/4" X 28". Even though his paintings are not antique, I have noticed a 100% increase in prices of his works over the past five years.   « Less

Circa 1870 Two Victorian Brass Mirror or Oval Picture Frames. These vintage frames are in good condition with each having a metal leg to suppot the frame for standing up as I have shown. The small one measures 12' in height and 8 1/4" in diameter at the widest point. On the back top is a impressed mark of A E. The other frame is 15 1/2" in height and 10 3/4" in diameter at the widest point. These frames are perfect for pictures or mirrors. Very well done and are quite charming. I would date them from 1870-1900. Good Condition.   « Less

Early 20th Century, approximately 1930-1940 impressionistic oil on masonite panel of a fishing ship in Gloucester Harbor on North Shore of Massachusetts. These are often referred to also as Cape Ann and there have been many of the north shore artists that have painted similar scenes. As most, this is a unsigned painting. It has a wonderful and interesting perspective that is very well done. The frame appears to be original. This painting has great depth. It has been lightly restored and the painting has been relined. The frame is not the original frame but definetely is a nice 19th century frame that goes very nice with the painting. This is a OIL on Canvas with and signed by E. WEBER. The Weber and Webber family produced many 19th century artists and mostly all did nautical and marine painings. We have had several over the years and they appreciate in value as the years go by. Early-Mid 20TH Century print of three ducks on a rocky coast. This print or lithograph is signed CK in lower left corner. We also have another one by the same artist of four ducks in the same scene and apparently location. That one is signed on the lower right side. Both of these are framed and matted. Both frames measure 23 1/2" in width and are 19 1/2" in height. The markings on the bottom are apparently a description which is apparently european, maybe german. Good Condition and this Pair goes very well together. A nice wall addition to any room in a home.   « Less
