Rare and unusual Chinese enamel and ivory inset jewelry box. The box is silver plated with button feet. The top of the box has a carved ivory crown inset in the center. The box has a silk fabric lining. Although the box opens and closes nicely, you can remove the hinge pin and keep the box open. It can be removed making it a lift off top rather than a hinged back top. The ivory inset crown measures 2 3/4 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches high. The box is more than 6 inches long and almost 3 inches wide. Height 3 inches. The enameling is in very good condition as well as the ivory inset only minor enamel loss under the ivory crown is viisble. The bottom of the box is stamped China in the metal. It looks like silver but is most likely silverplate. The sides of the box under the enameling hava a delicate floral motif. The box is in very good used condition. Antique flying eagle FIX brooch with a wingspan of 68mm. FIX is a French term for heavily gold applied jewelry items. FIX pieces were made during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco Era from 1890-1920. The reason they marked the pieces FIX is because the gold was so heavily applied that unscrupulous individuals were selling these pieces as solid gold. From the top of the eagles back to the bottom of it's tail it measures 12mm. It looks like it had a ring attached to the eagle's mouth that may have been a dangling diamond or precious jewel there at one time. This could be modified to hold a precious stone. Beautiful antique gold filled lady's hunting case pendant watch. The watch movement is inscribed EDGEMERE SEARS ROEBUCK & CO INC. It is also inscribed 15 JEWELS ADJUSTED. The watch is in excellent running condition and keeps very good time. The face has a subsidiary second hand dial with a silvered beaded design around the Arabic numerals. In between the numbers are triangular pyramid shaped raised silver markers. The face of the watch is very interesting and very attractive. The outer case back has a lovely Art Nouveau floral hand chased design. The front has a similar design with a cartouche and the initials MEH.
