Antonius Felix served under the Roman Emperor Claudius for the first two years of his perfectship, and then under Nero for his remaining term.
The reign of Felix was oppressive but strong. It was he who caised the apostle Paul to be sentenced to prison. A passage in the New Testament refers to this governor. When Paul was transferred to Caesarea from Jerusalem for his protection, a message was prepared to explain the mission:
And he wrote a letter after this manner: “ Claudius Lysias unto the most excellent governor Felix, I send greeting.â€
The coins of Felix consist of two different types of bronze prutot, and they were made to recognize his Roman Allegiances. Those under the authority of Claudius show crossed palm branches (A.D 52 – 54), while those made under Nero have crossed shields and spears (A.D 54 – 62). Both issues are date year 14 of the reign Caesar.

BRONZE COIN PRUTAH OF JERUSALEM PENDANT
ANCIENT JUDAEA. Roman Procurators. Porcius Festus, 59-62 AD.
This beautiful Prutah of Jerusalem bearing a Palm branch is nicely set in handmade wire sterling silver pendant adorned with Roman stone beads on the sides and genuine leather choker terminated with silver clasp so it can safely worn today.
Dimensions: Length: 43 cm
Found in Jerusalem, Israel
Porcius Festus issued this bronze prutah in A.D 59; he was the procurator of Judea under Nero for only about one year.
Festus inherited all of the problems of his predecessor in regard to the Roman practice of creating civic privileges for Jews. Only one other issue bedeviled his administration, the controversy between Agrippa II and the priests in Jerusalem regarding the wall erected at the temple to break the view of the new wing of Agrippa's palace.
During his administration, Jewish hostility to Rome was greatly inflamed by the civic privileges issue. Feelings were aroused which played an important part in the closely following Jewish War of AD 66.
In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul had his final hearing before Festus. In Acts 25:12, Festus sought to induce Paul to go to Jerusalem for trial; Paul appealed to the Emperor. The appeal resulted in Paul being sent to Rome for judgment by the Emperor himself although Festus had difficulty in detailing charges against him. Acts 25-26

Constantine the Great (Latin: Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus Augustus) Was a Roman Emperor from 306 to 337 AD. Constantine was the son of Flavius Valerius Constantius, a Roman Army officer, and his mother Helena.
His father became Caesar, the deputy emperor in the west, in 293 AD. Constantine was sent east, where he rose through the ranks to become a military tribune under the emperors Diocletian and Galerius.
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built on his orders at the purported site of Jesus' tomb in Jerusalem, became the holiest place in Christendom. The Papal claim to temporal power in the High Middle Ages was based on the supposed Donation of Constantine. He is venerated as a saint by Eastern Orthodox and Byzantine Catholics. Though Constantine has historically often been referred to as the "First Christian Emperor" (and indeed he heavily promoted the Christian Church), scholars debate his actual beliefs or even his actual comprehension of the Christian faith itself (he was not even baptized until just before his death)
He built a new imperial residence at Byzantium and renamed the city Constantinople after himself.
His main language was Latin, and during his public speeches he needed Greek translators.

Aweidah Gallery is pleased to offer this ancient museum quality Sumerian beads necklace, dating from 2200 - 1800 BC Length: 43 cm Sumerians valued jewelry as a sign of status More »
Aweidah Gallery is pleased to offer this ancient museum quality Sumerian beads necklace, dating from 2200 - 1800 BC Length: 43 cm Sumerians valued jewelry as a sign of status and wealth. Among the many achievements of the Sumerians was their craftsmanship in the production of jewelry. The people of this area adorned themselves with jewelry of all kinds. They used a variety of materials for necklaces including semi-precious stones. They were carefully carved by hand or were cast in molds The turquoise beads are faience, a glazed pottery produced by fusing ground quartz and soapstone,Carnelian, gold beads and ruby. The necklace is featuring a gold central pendant Carnelian was thought to cause the blood to circulate smoothly throughout the body. It was believed to make the skin healthy and youthful, removing sores and blemishes when worn. Because of its calming effects on the blood, carnelian also makes one feel peaceful and slow to anger. It is theorized that the color orange is the harmonious balance of passionate, creative red and bright, cheerful yellow, making it particularly soothing to wear. RUBY, Considered in the Ancient East to be the luckiest of all gems, the ruby is said to confer upon its owner protection from all misfortune either man made or natural. Like the sapphire, the ruby is a member of the corundum family, an aluminum oxide that owes its bright red color to the trace presence of chromium. The most prized hue for the gem is called "pigeon's blood", a deep red touched with violet; a necklace of these stones is said to have been given by Alexander the Great to the Queen Mother of Persia. However, because of its Eastern origins, the ruby was little known to the Classical cultures of the West
In the East, especially India, the ruby was much sought after; Sanskrit writings refer to it as the "king of gems". Its red color associated it medicinally with diseases of the blood, and it was especially valued to ward off pestilence, to staunch bleeding, as well as cure diseases of the stomach. In Eastern belief, it also promoted peace and prosperity for its owner, and granted him invulnerability from all evil.Who, looking upon this splendid stone could feel anything but happiness? These beads have been carefully restrung and are wearable. These beads are all guaranteed to be from this ancient culture ALL ITEMS THAT WE OFFER FOR SALE COME WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY « Less
