SOLD A Very important and rare Antique Chinese portable Seal assembly made of rhinoceros horn, Qing Dynasty 17th 18th century. The set is formed of three elements .The top one is the actual seal of oval shape containing two superbly carved elegant Chinese calligraphy characters, the medium part is the base for the seal and the third part is a container for the ink paste .Each of the elements has holes for the suspension string which also secures all three elements together. CONDITION: in very good condition considering its age, with beautiful old dark patina, except for some flakes on the edges. MEASUREMENTS: Height: 8.5 cm (3 3/8 in). Width: 4.5 cm (11 1/2 inches. Made of two layers of blue and white glass, with finely incised decoration depicting tripod censers, and a shallow bowl with fruits on a bench. The panels were possibly originally mounted on a window, or screen, and the wooden frames were added later on. CONDITION: The glass is in good condition, the wooden frames are worn-out with cracks.
