Dated 1915 and signed B. CHURCH. A Beautiful and very well executed Oil on Board of Ships in a Moonlight Scene on the water. Size of painting is 9 1/2" X 7 1/2" and the overall size including the frame is 17 1/4" X 15". The artist is English and is listed in Davenports. Good Condition. I have Very Lightly had the painting cleaned professionally by a art conservator. This is a very nice charming painting, of a real nice size,and in Good Condition. Frame has a few cracks in the corners. I believe the frame is original. We recently have reduced the price on this painting and many other items on our web site.   « Less

By the age of the wood on the stretcher and the back of the canvas, I figure this painting is from the mid-20th Century. 1950-Mid 60's. It measures 16" X 20" and depicts a Impressionistic View of a Nude Beach. In the lower right hand corner this painting is signed Rawdon. On the back of the stretcher is the word Goggin painted twice and there is a partial paper label from an exhibit. I also found written in pencil "#2". Although I could not find listed many artists named Rawdon, I am not able to identify the Rawdon that did this painting. At the bottom of the painting, right in the middle, is a 1 1/2" line crack in the paint, but the canvas is not separated. There are no other problems or repairs. The previous owner added a 20" X 24" Solid Oak Frame sometimes in the past few years.   « Less

19TH Century signed Seascape Watercolor Painting measuring 5 3/4" X 9" mounted in a gold gilded frame and double matted. Overall size is 14 3/4" X 12". The painting, which is in perfect condition, depicts a rugged coastline with the silhouette of a old building on the rise. You can also see a couple of sailing ships on the horizon. In the lower right corner I can make out the artist signature, but I can not decipher it. Good Condition. There is a very light stain to the right hand edge of the mat, but there are no other damages or repairs.   « Less

This is a new one on me and I simply could not resist it. This is a Mid 19th Century Blue Canton Dinner Plate measuring 9 7/8" in diameter. The plate has been hand painted with a scene of Gay Head Cliffs on Martha's Vineyard. This plate was probably sold as a souvenir and around the bottom rim there is writing that says "SOUVENIR OF OAK BLUFFS" which is the name of a town on the island. Art work is actually really good and obviously done by a art student or a skilled artist. Plate is in Excellent Condition with the exception of some light wear to the painting and one repaired chip on the plate.   « Less

Circa 1840 Chinese Export Blue Canton Master Salt 4" X 3 1/4" Across the top and 1 1/4" in height. Nice blue canton scene in a nice blue color with port and water with bridge and pagodas in the background. Some fritting around the top edges and two minor chips. The bottom of the salt has the typical rain and cloud border. We just purchased two of these salts out of a St. Louis home and the other one is being listed separately. Because of the two chips, we have listed this one $100.00 less than the other salt.   « Less

Professionally framed and matted with a glass cover by Purnell Art Gallery. Another well known framing and gallery store in Baltimore that was established in 1890. It is possible that this piece was purchased from Purnell by the owner who had many pieces of art including oils. Also engravings, lithographs and watercolors. Size of the frame is 26" wide X 31" in height.It has been professionally mounted in frame with glass cover by David Bendanns FINE ART ROOM in Baltimore, Md. He is a very well known framing and gallery store established in 1859. It was probably purchased from him by the owner who had many pieces of art that we just recently purchased from their estate. Many of the pieces especially the mezzotints were from The Fine Art Room located at 105 East Baltimore Street in Baltimore, Maryland.   « Less
