Magnificent antique gilt bronze lady playing castanets with musical pipes by her feet. She is dancing infront of a bronze term sculpture that is smiling and enjoying the vision of the beautiful nude gilt bronze lady dancing and playing castanets. The artist made this sculpture in two sizes, this one and another very much larger one and also sculpted them in porcelain. The example we are offering is the finest condition and most beautiful example of this sculpture that we have seen. I own the large porcelain version and have seen the much larger bronze version. In my opinion, the gilt bronze two color version we are offering for sale is the finest example known. The gilding is perfect with no losses. The chocolate brown patina of the bacchus head term and the rest of the sculpture are perfect. The combination of the beautiful gilt bronze nude dancer and the dark chocolate brown patina on the bacchus head term and the rest of the sculpture really make the gilt bronze lady come alive. She is beautiful and happy, what a great combination. Vanden. Bossche created some of the world's most beautiful sculptures in the 19th century. Below the artist's signature is inscribed H. Gladenbeck & Sohn along with the Gladenbeck foundry seal. This is an exquisite 19th century German bronze sculptured by a very important German artist Aktien Cesellochaft and made at the finest German foundry of the 19th century Gladenbeck & Sohn Foundry. The lady has an absolutely beautiful face. She has a gorgeous and anatomically perfect body sculpted by a master artisan in the 19th century. She is guaranteed to please the most particular collector or connoisseur and is mounted on her original brown specimen marble high quality base. She measures 16 inches high. Exquisite antique bronze dancer inscribed on the base Philippe. The beautiful lady is wearing sandals, flowers in her hair, and holding a shawl in her hand. Her hair is styled in the classic Art Nouveau design. She is very lifelike and beautifully sculptured as are all of Philippe's works. She is dancing with her right hand in the air holding a shawl. The shawl only covers the back of her hand, an area above her shoulder and a small area by her legs. The rest of her body is not covered. Her sandals are beautifully designed with fancy ties. She has a lovely expression on her face very confident and very beautiful. The bronze measures 12-1/2 inches from the bottom of the base to the top of her hand. From the bottom of her sandal to the top of her head she measures 11 inches. The base is 4-3/4 inches long by 3-1/2 inches wide. From the tip of her finger to the back of her elbow she measures 7-1/4 inches. Weight 5.75 lbs. This is a lovely and very rare model by one of France's finest sculptors Philippe. She has some light rubbing to her patina but otherwise there are no condition issues to comment on. She is very lifelike and animated. Beautiful dark patina bronze sculpture depicting a nude lady kneeling and singing. She is mounted on her original polished gray onyx base. The base has some minor chips mentioned for the sake of accuracy. The bronze is in excellent condition no chips or any condition issues. She is very animated and looks like she is singing loudly. One hand is placed by side of her head to direct sound of her voice. Her left hand is outstretched. Not including the polished base she measures 5-3/4 inches to the top of her left hand. From her left knee to her left toe tips she measures 3-1/4 inches. Including the base to the top of her thumb she measures 7-1/16 inches. The oval shaped base measures 6 inches long and 4-1/8 inches wide. Weight 3.5 lbs. This bronze will make a wonderful desktop paperweight and will also look beautiful in a cabinet displayed with other bronzes. She dates circa 1900 and is beautifully sculptured looking very much alive. Although apparently unsigned whoever sculptured this model had an excellent command of sculpting lifelike figures with perfect anatomy. Guaranteed to please as are all our items. Professor Seifert is considered one of the most important German sculptors of the 19th and early 20th centuries. This is a beautiful example of his bronzes. She is mounted on a conforming variegated brown and sand colored polished onyx base. She is bending forward picking up a fish that she just caught. The bronze is in excellent condition showing moderate rubbing to the patina commensurate with age and handling. She has a beautiful face and seems serious about catching her fish. Beautiful antique bronze plaque with a high relief sculpture of a beautiful nude lady carrying grape vines. At her feet are more grapes and vines. The reverse has a young farm boy sitting on a wall with a basket of grapes and grapes in his hand. Behind him are rows of grapevines. L. Coudray was a very important French sculptor who worked in the 19th and very early 20th centuries. A pair of bronze sculptures by this artist sold for $66.000. at Christies in New York less than 2 years ago. This is a beautiful bronze sculptured plaque measuring 2-3/4 inches high by 1-1/2 inches wide. Weight 73.8 grams. The plaque is in mint condition, artist signed in the upper right L. Coudray. The nude lady holding the grapes has very long flowing hair going all the way down her back. She is so lifelike she looks like she is walking right off the surface of the plaque.
