For sale I have a Desk Set Item made by Tiffany Studios, New York. This is only 1 item from a 7 Piece Desk Set that I recently purchased from a Maine Estate. I sold the Notepad, Stamp Box and Rocker Blotter so there are only 4 pieces left. The Item for Auction is a "Inkwell" and it is done in Tiffany's "American Indian" Desk Set Pattern. The Inkwell measures 3 1/2" tall and is 5 1/2" in diameter at the bottom. The Inkwell has the very desirable "Craftsman Brown" Patina and is a real Collectors Choice in The Arts and Crafts Style Decor. This is the most sought after and most Popular Patina in this Desk Set Pattern. This Desk set Item displays wonderful Geometric Patterns and Symbols to Honor "The American Indian". The Inkwell is considered to be in excellent-mint condition as there are no dents, or dings. This piece shows very minimal wear. It still retains its original Inkwell Insert and I am happy to report there is no damage to this piece of Glass. It looks as good as the day it was made. It has a counter sunk polished Pontil so it can fit snug in the well and allows for the inner screw not to touch the glass. The piece is signed on the bottom with "Tiffany Stvdios New York" Impressed Mark along with the Pattern Number 1183 for the Inkwell Number. The spelling of Studios with the letter "V" denotes this as an earlier piece. I will also be listing the "Blotter Ends (2), and Calendar/Picture Frame". For sale I have a lovely piece of pottery made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Snowberry" and the shape is an Ashtray. This is one of the hardest items to find in the Roseville Snowberry Pattern with or without damage. The piece measures 1 1/4" tall and is approximately 5 3/8" wide in diameter . The Ashtray depicts very Nice clusters of White Berries with a handful of Detailed Green Leaves on Brown Branches. These rise from the edge and fork into 2 branches and one of them forking again at the top towards the opposite edge. These are set against a Matt Country Blue Glaze with Rose hues background. There are 4 Grooves along the outer edge to rest your cigarettes. The Ashtray is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no chips, cracks, nicks or dings. There are a few areas along the edge that is weak in the Blue Glaze. One having a bigger glaze miss than the others. The piece is signed "Roseville U.S.A." in incised script. There is also a letter "Y" written in grease pencil which is most likely the finishers mark. This ashtray was made, Circa 1947.   « Less

I sold the Notepad, Stamp Box and Rocker Blotter so there are only 4 pieces left. The Item for Auction is a "Calendar/Picture Frame" and it is done in Tiffany's "American Indian" Desk Set Pattern. The Calendar/Picture Frame measures 7 3/8" wide at its widest point and is 6" in Height. The Picture or Calendar Opening is 5 3/8" Wide by 3 3/4" Tall. The Calendar/Picture Frame has the very desirable "Craftsman Brown" Patina and is a real Collectors Choice in The Arts and Crafts Style Decor. This is the most sought after and most Popular Patina in this Desk Set Pattern. This Desk set Item displays wonderful Geometric Patterns and Symbols to Honor "The American Indian". The lower exterior has a Hammered Arts and Crafts appearance. The Calendar/Picture Frame is considered to be in excellent-mint condition as there are no dents, or dings on the front side. This piece shows very minimal wear. The only issue is a groove in the metal back plate on the back of the Frame. This is Factory as it was made this way and not damage. It has an easel style Hinge to sit on your desk comfortable. The Frame has all of its original Screws as well. The piece is signed on the backside Frame plate with "Tiffany Stvdios New York" Impressed Mark along with the Pattern Number 1187 for the Calendar/Picture Frame Number. An unusual antique wooden dog carrier, by A. Backus, Jr., & Sons, dating from the early 1900’s and featuring a signed medallion on the front identifying the maker. Absalom Backus, Jr. (1824-1901) and his sons were manufacturers of dog crates and woven boxes in Detroit, MI. Henry N. Backus patented this animal crate in 1902, patent number 698782 – designed for “shipping fine dogs and other valuable animals.” This dog kennel features an arched roof, with a door in the front and a spring-loaded chute above for food (labeled “Dog Biscuit, Water Here, Pull Open to Feed”). The edges of the crate are reinforced with metal; however, this apparently didn’t deter a feisty previous occupant, who appears to have chewed through the crate at the edge of the door, and also managed to remove a few boards from the floor of the cage (pictured). This dog cage measures 28 ¼” wide, 40 ½” long, and 36” tall. NDOG1-RW   « Less
