For sale is a Lovely piece of Art Glass made by the Consolidated Lamp and Glass Company of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. The shape is a very large vase and is known as "The Dancing Nudes" vase. The Vase is impressive as it measures 11 3/4" tall and is 9 1/4" in diameter. The top opening has a diameter of 5" outside measurement with the base or bottom having a diameter of 5 1/4".
This vase displays a wonderful Milky White base glass with a stain glass finish that is accented with Raised Relief or Sculptured nudes dancing with a Satyr playing the flute. The pattern of this vase is known as "The Dancing Nudes" or "Nymphs" and even the "Satyr" Vase amongst the Consolidated Collectors. The Vase is 4 color as the Nudes are done in a wonderful 2 toned beige colored treatment with Blue Scarfs on a white background. The vase has an Art Deco appeal as you can see the influence of Lalique Glass in this and many other early pieces produced by this company.
This vase was designed by Kenneth and Reuben Haley and was part of Consolidated's Martele Line. Reuben Haley who was known as one of the best glass designers in the country. He was not only a glass master but also a sculptor and metal worker. He would mold his design from clay first and then produce it in glass and was the creator of the Ruba Rombic and Martele Line as well. The Muncie Pottery Company is also known for its' Ruba Rombic line which was also designed by Reuben Haley.
The Vase is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The Vase is unsigned but guaranteed to be Vintage Consolidated Glass. There is also the typical round mold mark on the bottom of the vase. This Vase is just outstanding in every way. You just don't find them this clean with absolutely no damage what so ever!!
The Dancing Nudes vase was part of Phoenix/Consolidated's Martele Line in their Catalog. This line was created to compete against Rene Lalique's Glass that was so popular in the states at the same time period. This vase was made circa 1926-1928.
This is a very large vase and it will be shipped via UPS (United Parcel Service)!! « Less

For sale I have an Outstanding Art Glass Basket made by Wilhelm Kralik Sohn of Eleonorenhain Bohmen (Bohemia) which is now the modern day "Czech Republic". I call this Pattern "Swirling Waves" and It is very similar to a Loetz Decoration I have seen in the past. The Basket is a good size as it stands 12" tall and is 8 1/4" wide and 5 1/2" deep at the widest part of the Basket.
The Basket display a very Beautiful Pattern of Iridescence Moss Green Waves and Swirls running throughout the piece. The iridescence is on the Inside and Outside of the Basket. The Decoration also reminds me of the King Tut Decoration made my Tiffany, Durand and other early American Manufacturers. The Decoration is applied to the Basket as you can feel the Ridges of the Decoration above the surface of the base glass. The Decoration is applied to a clear glass base. The Basket has a very nice Applied Clear handle that is Accented with Small Round Rosettes that hold the handle to the Basket. These Rosettes are almost Identical to a Loetz Basket that I had many years earlier but I am told by the folks writing the updated Kralik, Rindskopf and Loetz Site that this is a Kralik Basket
The Basket is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no Cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is not signed but is definitely of European Origin. The Basket does display a counter sunk polished Pontil. This is the finishing sign of a Quality Piece of Art Glass.
Purchase with confidence as these decorated Baskets are quite Rare. I would consider this piece to have been made circa 1910-1925.

For Auction I have a Beautiful piece of Carnival Glass made by the Fenton Glass Company of Williamstown, West Virginia. The pattern is known as "Dragon and Lotus" and the shape is a Bowl. The Bowl measures 2 9/16" tall and is 8 3/16" in diameter.
The Bowl depicts alternating images of Flying Dragons and Open Petaled Lotus Flowers. Each image is encircled in an oval with a side profile of the Lotus flower in between. There is a busy inner band that resembles Dugans' Soutache pattern and it is finished in the center of the bowl with Lotus flowers in teardrop shaped lines and a stylized flower in between. The bowl has a collar base and a plain exterior. The bowl is also adorned with a saw tooth edge. The color of this gem is Marigold and there is great iridescence on the interior and exterior. You can see hues of Blue, Gold, Purple, Green and Fuchsia with no loss to the iridescence that I can see.
The Bowl is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The piece is unsigned but guaranteed to be Vintage Fenton.
The piece was made Circa 1915-1920. « Less

For sale I have a Lovely Vase made by The Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, PA. The Vase is in a very desirable Shape. This Shape was known as a "Hyacinth" Vase. The Vase is a More »
For sale I have a Lovely Vase made by The Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, PA. The Vase is in a very desirable Shape. This Shape was known as a "Hyacinth" Vase. The Vase is a Good Size as it stands 6 1/8" tall and is 3 3/4" in diameter. In period catalogs it is indistinctly called Venetian, Pompeian, or Japanese, which all refer to imported fashion crazes of the period.
The Vase Displays the ever Popular Celery Green White Frit Glass with a hand form raised lip. The entire top lip show unevenness and that wonderful hand formed appearance. What makes this an interesting piece is when they executed the Blowing they rolled it in a White Frit Glass Power while the Vase was hot and attached to the Punty Rod. This picked up the Glass pieces and then it was put back in the oven and fired and the white frit became part of the Vase. When you stick your fingers inside the vase you can feel the vertical ribbing. The white frit was fused to these ribs on the outside but you cannot feel the ribs on the outside. This creates somewhat an optical illusion.
These Vases were used to grow Hyacinths Flowers. You would fill the Vase with water to the bottom of the neck. The Hyacinth bulb was placed in the opening not touching the water. The bulb would grow and its roots would extend down into the water and absorb the water as needed for growth. These Vases were extremely popular during the Victorian era. They made great Flowers Vases for the Window sills.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks or dings. The piece is unsigned as is the case with these pieces. This method reminds me a little bit some of the LCT Tiffany Favrile Cypriote Glass examples. This is a quality piece of early American Art Glass. In period catalogs it is indistinctly called Venetian, Pompeian, or Japanese, which all refer to imported fashion crazes of the period.
This piece was made very early, circa 1898-1906. There is documentation that this was a design in the 1898 Catalog of The National Glass Company in which Thomas Dugan was a Partner. The Dugan Glass Company Came into being 1902-1906.
The Dugan Venetian line dates to 1906. « Less

For sale is a lovely Vase made by The Phoenix/Consolidated Glass of Monaca, PA. The Shape is a Tall tapered Shoulder Vase and the pattern is "Bittersweet". The Vase measures 9 9/16" tall and is approximately 5" wide at the shoulders. The opening of the Vase measures 3 1/2" wide and 3 1/4" at the base.
The Vase depicts Clusters of Peach or Salmon colored berries or fruits hanging on Light Jade green leaves growing from a woody vine. These are set against a chalky milk white background and is a lovely 3 color vase. This raised relief decoration surrounds the entire vase. The colors are strong and vivid and the mold is crisp.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The top lip is polished, smooth and has a small bevelled edge which means it has not been ground from any chips. Usually this area has a few flea nicks and I am happy to report that this has none!! The Vase is not signed as these typically had Paper or Foil Labels. These simply fell off over the course of time.
This is a quality piece of American Art Glass. I'm sure the lucky buyer will be delighted with their purchase. This piece would fit well with a Winery Collection or someone decorating in an Italian or Greek Motif. This piece was made Circa 1926-1932.
Consolidated Lamp & Glass Company was located in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. Phoenix Glass Company is located in Monaca, Pennsylvania. Phoenix began production of art glass in 1932 when 45-50 molds from the Consolidated Glass Company were moved to Phoenix and used until early 1936. This occurred because Consolidated Glass Company had been forced to shut down because of the Great Depression. They were both influenced by Lalique Glass from France. « Less

For sale is a very nice piece of Art Glass made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is more commonly known as a Gold Aurene "Stick" or "Bud" Vase. More »
For sale is a very nice piece of Art Glass made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is more commonly known as a Gold Aurene "Stick" or "Bud" Vase. This Beautiful Vase Stands 8" Tall and the top of the stick has a diameter of 5/8" outside measurement. The Round Foot has a diameter of 2 3/4".
The Vase displays a very strong Gold Aurene Favrile Iridescence that only Steuben is known for. It has a Brilliant Gold Mirrored Metallic appearance, yet it is Glass. This was Frederick Carder at his best. The Round Hollow Tall Cylindrical Stick Form is mounted to a Round Platform or Foot. They are fused together to appear as only one piece was blown yet it is actually a two part Vase.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, or dings. The only issues to report are minor. There is an area on the surface of foot that has a few spots of iridescence loss. It appears to be factory but I am not totally sure. I have shown a picture of this. This other is Factory as the top Rim shows a teeny nick. This happened in the Cutting Department at the time of Manufacturing. The tops of these vases should Not be Polished and smooth. This is not how Steuben made these. The tops should be rough cut and show these type flea bites. The ones that have been Polished Smooth are done after market. My camera is 10X and it appears much larger than it really is. The flea nick on the rim is not even the size of a pencil tip. There is a few minor scratches in the iridescence but nothing too obtrusive.
The Vase is signed on the bottom with the Engraved mark "Aurene" along with the shape number "2556" in the Steuben Catalog. This is a quality piece of Art glass and will enhance any Art Glass Collection. Those of you who collect Aurene Stick Vases and want a nice example don't let this pass you by. The Vase doesn't sit at an angle, it is just the Photographer. I will attach a link to view this shape in the Steuben Glass Archives of Shapes.

For Auction I have a Wonderful piece of Carnival Glass made by The Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, Pa. The shape is a Ruffled Bowl and the pattern is known as "Ski Star". The piece measures 3 15/16" tall and is 10 3/4" in diameter at its widest point.
The Bowl depicts heavily stippled crescents joined in the formation of an eight-pointed Star. There is a smaller Star inside the large in the center of the Bowl. It has nice iridescence on the interior and exterior of the piece with wonderful hues of Fuchsia, Blue, and Teal on a Gold Background. The color of the Bowl is "Peach Opalescent" with the milky white opalescence graduating in density up to the ruffled rim where there is a nice white band on the exterior outer edge.
The Bowl is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no nicks, chips, cracks or dings. The piece is unsigned but guaranteed to be Dugan's "Ski Star" Carnival Glass Pattern.
The Bowl is early as it is made, Circa 1910-1911. « Less

For sale is a Fabulous Art Glass Centerpiece Bowl made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. I have a large Calcite with Gold Aurene Interior Centerpiece Bowl. More »
For sale is a Fabulous Art Glass Centerpiece Bowl made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. I have a large Calcite with Gold Aurene Interior Centerpiece Bowl. The Bowl measures 9 13/16" in Diameter and is 3 5/8" tall.
The Bowl is just wonderful as the Interior Displays that Brilliant Gold Aurene that Steuben was famous for. You can see wonderful Fuchsia's with Blue and Gold Hues. The Onion Skin outer border is a real pleaser with Steuben Collectors. When you hold the bowl to the light at an angle the order lights ups with an Electric Fuchsia Hue that is outstanding!! The exterior White Calcite Background is subtle and will appeal to most decors. The Bowl has a large round foot that is made from the body of the bowl forming only one 1 piece instead of two. This is one of the larger bowls that were made at Steuben. I firmly believe they never displayed anything inside as the inside shows no scratches at all. I hate to use the word Mint Iridescence, but that is exactly what this bowl has.
The Bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The only issues to report is some Gold Aurene got on the underside calcite on one side of the bowl. I have taken a picture of this and I feel it adds some charm to this piece. This also cannot be seen when displayed. This bowl was very loved as I cannot find any scratches in the Calcite side as well.
It is unsigned, but unconditionally guaranteed to be authentic Steuben. More than likely it had a Triangular Steuben Foil Label at one time. This simply came off at some point when it was washed. The Bowl does display the countersunk Polished Pontil. The sign of Quality Art Glass. I have always felt that Frederick Carder's Gold Aurene was much more Brilliant than L.C.T. Tiffany Favrile Glass. In fact Tiffany tried to sue Steuben for Stealing their Gold Favrile Formula in 1913. When the court proceedings Started Frederick Carter Agreed to lay down his Formula next to Tiffany's. Tiffany refused to show his and withdrew the law suit.
Those of you whom Collect Steuben Gold Aurene Calcite Glass will surely welcome this wonderful piece into their Collection. I'm sure the lucky buyer will be happy for many years with this purchase. This bowl was made, Circa 1910-1920. « Less

For Auction is a Utilitarian piece of Art Glass made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The Item is a Hand Blown "Sherbet and Under Plate" and it is done in the Verre de Soie Style of Art Glass. This was Frederick Carder's Favorite Glass. "Verre de Soie" literally means "Glass of Silk". The plate measures 5 1/2" in diameter and is 13/16" tall. The Sherbet stands 4" tall and the Sherbet opening is also 4" in diameter outside measurements. The Sherbet and Under Plate stands 4 1/4" tall when placed together.
The Sherbet and Plate depicts a Milky Translucent White Glass throughout. Both pieces have a wonderful iridescence sheen to it. You can see beautiful hues of Fuchsia, Purples and Blues. When you rub this piece of glass across your face it has a very silky feel to it, thus the name "Verre de Soie" Glass of Silk.
The Sherbet and Under Plate is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are a few minor scratches on the bottom of the under plate but the Sherbet shows virtually no sign of wear. This Sherbet and under plate is unsigned as this Style "Verre de Soie" usually carried a paper label. The piece does display a Pontil mark on the Sherbet and you can see a Pontil scar beneath. The plate has no Pontil Scar on the bottom and is flat to the touch. The counter Sunk Pontil is the sign of Quality Hand Blown Art Glass. I believe this to be shape number 2680 in the Steuben Catalog of shapes.
Steuben Aurene Glass is some the Highest Quality Glass you can own. At the turn of the Century LCT Tiffany Studio's Favrile line was their main competitor and their fared equally as well creating some of the nicest Art Glass Vases the World has ever seen. Steuben Sherbets and Under Plates are somewhat hard to find. You commonly find the Calcite ones but not the Verre de Soie ones. These items were used and most of them did not make it through.
Those of you who collect Verre de Soie and want an excellent example do not let this one slip by you!! This piece was early in Steuben's Production as it was made, Circa 1905-1920. « Less
