Beautifully shaped liquor decantor with original stopper. In 1935 a federal law went into effect that alcoholic bottles must be embossed with the statement " Federal Law Forbids Sale Or Reuse Of This Bottle" This law was repealed December 1, 1964. The law was meant to keep bootleggers from refilling legitimate bottles with illegal or bootleged liquor. This decantor is in beautiful condition, one point of spout has a very very small roughness at the round point of one of the 3 lips, it is not a chip and is not visible or noticeable unless you feel of it with finger tip. For sale is a lovely vase made by a Bohemian Glass Company. The Item is known as a "Stag and Castle" or "Deer and Castle" Vase. The Glass is a Flashed Red over Clear. The Vase is a nice size as it stands 5 1/2" tall and is 4 5/8" in diameter. The vase depicts separate scenes going around the Vase. The First is a Deer or Stag w Antlers, the second is that of a Castle and the 3rd is a Doe Running the opposite direction of the Stag and the last is a Gazebo Park Scene. These are all wheel cut and acid etched with great detail by a master wheel cutter. They are cut from Red to clear and all four cut scenes are nestled in a Forest of Wheel Cut lush foliage. The vase sits on a Round foot with horizontal cut windows all along the bottom. The is an exquisite Bohemian Vase that was made by a True Master. The vase has good weight not like the lighter pieces that were produced at a later period that look similar to this pattern. I thought possibly it could be "Moser" but I am not sure. The top rim is polished smooth and the Vase was put together in 2 Parts. The foot was applied to the Vessel. The Foot was blown from the Bottom and the vase was blown from the top then these 2 pieces were fused together. The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are some inclusions like pieces of sand that didn't melt when firing inside the vase. This really adds some charm to the piece and is typical of early art glass. The piece is unsigned and it has a flat clear bottom. There are some scratches and this is consistent with its age. The inside is clear and shows no signs of calcium deposits. These quality Bohemian Vases are becoming hard to find. They are Truly Lovely and the Collectors seem to hold onto these beauties. For sale is a Beautiful piece of Green Carnival Glass made by The Northwood Glass Company of Wheeling, West Virginia. The shape is a Vase and the pattern is known as "Flute". The Vase measures approximately 15 1/8" tall and is 4 1/4" in diameter at the widest flare of the rim. The Base also measures 4 1/4" in diameter. The Vase depicts 8 vertical flutes that go from the top of this beautifully swung and ruffled large example to about an inch above the base. The color is green with heavy Marigold iridescence at the top fading towards the bottom two thirds of this beauty. There are vibrant colors of Gold, Purple, Blue, Fuchsia and Teal iridescence that is on the interior and exterior at the top. There is a starred base which is the norm for this pattern. The Vase is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no chips, nicks, cracks or dings. There are tiny air bubbles throughout the vase and a couple of larger ones towards the top. Straw marks and air bubbles are a common occurrence in the manufacturing of carnival glass and do not affect the value. The piece is signed with Northwood's N in a Circle and Underlined that I have not pictured as it is on the bottom INSIDE of the vase. This can only be seen when you look through the side of the vase at the bottom . The Vase was made Circa 1910-1920.   « Less

For Auction is a wonderful piece of Art Glass blown by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is an Optic Ribbed Fan Vase. The Vase has a nice wide opening to receive several flowers at one time. The Vase is blown in Frederick Carder's very desirable Pomona Green and Topaz Art Glass. The Vase is a nice size as it stands 8 1/4" tall and is 7" wide and 1 1/16" deep. The foot has a diameter of 3 13/16". The Vase displays a very beautiful Green Optic Ribbed Pattern in a Fan Shape that is superb! The Fan Vase is attached to a round Topaz or Amber colored foot. It starts round at the bottom and has 3 round applied knuckles meeting the Green Fan Vase above. These 2 pieces of glass are fused together forming one piece. This piece is actually made in three stages. The first is the round foot is blown. Then the amber knuckle stem is applied and fused to the foot. The last piece the Fan vase is attached to the stem forming one piece. These were difficult pieces to blow and shows Frederick Carder ability to mix colors together and have them be compatible without breaking. The Vase is considered to be in very good to excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are some minor scratches along the underside bottom and is consistent with age wear. There is also an inclusion on the inside middle of the Pontil and it is a strand of Glass that is very thin. This can be felt when touched. The Vase has a countersunk Polished Pontil. The sign of quality Art Glass. The piece is Signed with Steuben's Acid Etched Stamped "Fleur de Lis" Mark with "Steuben" inside the Polished Pontil. You can see remnants of the Pontil Scar underneath the signature. This a very nice example and I'm quite sure the buyer will be quite pleased with their purchase. This is known as shape number 6287 in the Steuben Catalog pages. Steuben made this vase in 3 sizes. This is the middle size as it is 7" across the top. There was a smaller 5" and a larger 9" also made at Steuben. This piece was made during the Frederick Carder Years, Circa 1915-1932.   « Less

For Auction I have a Wonderful piece of Carnival Glass made by The Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, Pa. The shape is a Compote and the pattern is known as "Coin Spot". The piece measures 4 1/4" tall and is 6 1/2" in diameter . The interior of the Compote is plain and the exterior has alternating concave plain flutes with indented oval thumbprints in between. These thumbprints go all the way to the knuckle on the stem of the piece. It has nice iridescence on the interior of the piece with wonderful hues of Fuchsia, Blue, and Teal on a Gold Background. The color of the Compote is "Peach Opalescent" with the milky white opalescence graduating in density up to the ruffled rim where there is a nice white band on the exterior outer edge. This piece has a clear stepped foot. The Compote is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no nicks, chips, cracks or dings. The piece is unsigned but guaranteed to be Dugan's "Stippled Petals" Carnival Glass Pattern. The Compote was made, Circa 1904-1931.   « Less
