Circa 1795 Pair of Chinese Export Famille Rose Elephant Candlesticks Jos Sticks Candlesticks. This is not the 19th Century Jos Sticks that you Occasionally see at a show or on Ebay. And if you find the 19th. Century Jos Stick--You find single ones, Never or Hardly a Pair. This pair is in Fantastic Excellent Condition of the utmost highest quality and No Restoration. They measure 5 3/4" to the top of the candle stick holder and 6 1/4" from the head to the rear. For those who have not seen much information on these rare items, The Book Chinese Export Porcelain by Herbert Schiffer in picture 125 on page 50 shows a example of a late 18th century pair. All three of these mugs must have been decorated by the same artist. Dragons, flowers birds, in garden scene with a peacock. A most unusual polychrome glaze border. The main scene of the bird and a tree is quite wonderful. The colors are just breathtaking. Circa 1800-1820 Chinese Export Rose Mandarin Punch Bowl measuring 15 1/2" in diameter and measures 6 1/2" in depth. This is definetely a one of a kind punch bowl. It has a Single Motiff going completely around the bowl on the outside. It also has a continous border at the top of the bowl decorated with beautiful butterflies and roses. The inside of the bowl has the central scene on the bottom separated by the greek key border and four quadrants depicting the royal entourage of the emperor in his chariot being pulled by many of the people. One of the quadrants portrays a man chopping a pig's head. Very much gold in and out and through out in this wonderful bowl. Great Quality and fabulous detail telling a story. Circa 1840 Chinese Export Blue Canton Vegetable Dish with Associated Cover. The vegetable dish itself measures 10 5/8" X 9 3/8" X 3" in height. The inside dimensions where the cover would set on is 9 5/8" X 8 1/2". On the bottom of this piece, reads as follows: 1996.CG.1134. I believe that was a inventory number and this was a deaquisition piuece out of a museum. The quality and the color is very good. The top was purchased by me elsewhere and I have performed the marriage of these two pieces. To begin with the cover is also of very good quality and blue color is slighter lighter than the blue color of the dish. The cover is also of very good quality and has a beautiful finial. The rain and cloud border of both pieces are of the same design and match perfectly. The bottom of the cover measures 8 5/8" X 7 1/2", so it is quite apparent it is smaller that the matching cover should be. The cover has been in my possession for years and the bottom was just recently purchased in the North Shore area of Massachusetts, near the Peabody Essex Museum in Peabody, Ma. Which as you know is where the finest chinese export museum is located.   « Less
