Antique Art Deco Mid-West Mnf., 6 Light, top-of-the-line, chandelier with original shades.
This chandelier was the best from the line that Mid-West called "The Beverly". Nice composition for the more Streamline design motif of the 1936 Deco era.
The color of the fixture is old gold finish with nickel accents. Very striking. The chandelier could be lengthened or shortened by adding/subtracting chain links.
We have totally rewired this light with high grade sockets and new central lead wire. Sockets are UL approved for up to 100 watts each. Please Note: If using incandescent bulbs, we recommend no higher than 60 to 65 watts, due to the heat emitted from higher wattages which can potentially damage old glass shades. If more light is necessary, energy efficient bulbs such as compact fluorescents or LED bulbs can be used. These emit more light with less heat.
Also...the bottom finial is actually a 3-way switch. This means that you can light just the bottom two disk sockets...or...just the five slip shade sockets...or...all seven sockets together. This gives the chandelier a potential night light function.
Measurements:
•Height: 22†tall with the two chain links as shown. Can be shortened another inch by removing one of the links.
•Spread: 19†diameter.
Comes complete with shades and ready to hang. Price is $984.50 plus $50.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

A very neat shell motif British theatre chandelier. This chandelier, and sconces that match it, are often called “Odeon Lights†since the main movie house chain in Britain named all their theatres “Odeonâ€. In fact...â€Odeon†is often a synonymous term for a movie theatre, i.e. “Let’s go to the Odeonâ€.
This chandelier was used with frosted, amber, and even pink tinted shades around the turn of the century. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century or more.
We have rewired this chandelier to UL American standards with a new American center socket cluster for three bulbs. One bulb lights each shade, with each socket rated for up to 100 watts. However, antique shades can be quite fragile and easily susceptible to damage from excess heat, so we recommend no more than 60 - 65 watts if you choose to use incandescent light bulbs. If brighter light is needed, today's LED and Compact Fluorescent light bulbs make good substitutions...they have a greater lumen output without the excess heat of incandescent bulbs.
The chandelier is ready to hang with an American standard light mounting kit which we will supply.
Measurements:
•Height: 18†tall to the bottom of the finial.
•Width: 14 ½"
Price: $742.50 for the chandelier, complete with the amber shades shown, plus $50.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Grey pewter finished single light pendant with ambered streamline glass ceiling bowl.
This fixture is perfect for a smaller room or hallway.
Measurements:
•Height: 10"
•Diameter: 14"
The bowl is lit by 3 standard sockets within, with each socket UL rated to accept up to 100 watts. If using an incandescent light bulb, we recommend no more than 60 to 65 watts to protect the antique shade from too much heat. If more light is needed, we recommend LED or compact fluorescent light bulbs, because these emit much more light without the excess heat so characteristic of incandescent light bulbs.
A note about the product pictures: We always use small 25 watt or lower bulbs in our pictures so the detail of the light fixture itself is revealed. We did not power it up for these pictures as too strong of bulb blows out the focus of our camera lens.
Price is $247.50 plus $35.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Fantastic Set of FOUR Art Deco Streamline Sconces by Mid-West Mnf.

Fantastic Set of FOUR Art Deco Streamline Sconces by Mid-West Mnf.
It's always nice to find a matching pair of antique Art Deco sconces...even better to find a scarce set of FOUR! We are absolutely delighted to have these for sale!
Made by Mid-West Manufacturing of Kansas City, Kansas in 1935, this company had a remarkable attitude towards the Great Depression. Their attitude was to make only the best, since there are always folks with money out there, even in the worst of times. They named this design "The Beverly Series."
The whole series was cast from aluminum, a metal that gained popularity as a material of choice for manufacturing during the 1930's. After casting and polishing, the aluminum was then contrasted and elaborated with gold touches. These are now complete with original shades that have an amber tinting.
Electrical:
While these sconces have been rewired in our UL shop to accept 100 watt incandescent bulbs, we have decided to add a neat LED SMD bulb as shown. This bulb runs at only 10 watts, but produces the same light as a 100 watt incandescent bulb!
Since these sconces are thin, the best bulb solution is either the corn cob style LED bulb (shown)...or a T10 tubular incandescent bulb, which can be found in most large chain stores. Your choice...but...to help you make that choice...we are giving you four LED bulbs (one for each sconce) for you to decide. All included in the price. Great for use as a night light, or long term usage....and yes, we will have these LED bulbs for replacements if and when you ever need them again. They are E26 base (which is the technical term for our everyday light bulb screw-in base), 10 watt, corn cob style, LED bulbs.
All mounting kits will be supplied. Nothing to find...nothing more to buy...nothing to worry about except where they will look best for you.
Overall Sconce Measurements:
•Height: 10"
•Width: 6"
•Projection: 9" from the wall into the room.
Price for the complete Set of FOUR of sconces including the glass shades and LED bulbs is: $1,485.00 plus $50.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
Residents of Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and International Customers: We gladly ship our listings worldwide. Shipping costs are estimated and invoiced separately on a per-order basis. We

Circa 1935, flat glass chandeliers were being produced by some very interesting companies during the latter part of the 30s and many appear in some very notable buildings. For one example, please enter “Images for Myers Chandelier Australia†in the Google Images search box. Many more like these are sprinkled in Chicago and New York as well.
So many elements working together for a fantastic result:
•Metal...brass/bronze cast metal. The castings are pierced and reticulated, which is so very hard to do when you are a foundry. We know...we do this with other less tricky jobs. The designs are simply gorgeous.
•Glass...while frosted, the panels are also beveled, showcasing the quality of the fixture...and all of them are in remarkable condition.
•Colors...contrasting the natural and aged brass work, we have an original green finish from the 30’s...no touch up has been done...just a VERY mild cleaning. All in all, very striking.
Because our electricians fell in love with this fixture, they pressured a unique lighting solution. The light WAS so under-lighted (originally), they wanted to rewire this lovely chandelier with a California approved LED light solution...which we agreed to...and they have done. There are now FIVE corn cob style 10 watt LED light bulbs in the bottom bowl, each having a lumen output equivalent of about 100 watts incandescent. There is also a 27 watt LED bulb in the center ornamentation, to give it a very nice presence. A top-of-the-line quality lighting solution for a top-of-the-line flat panel chandelier.
Measurements:
•Height: 30"
•Diameter: 17"
$1,375.00 for a very nice complete & rewired chandelier in original condition (except for the addition of state of the art LED lights, which are included)...plus $50.00 for careful Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Cast and signed 1939 Art Deco sconces that can be found in Virden catalog #39 (i.e. 1939 as the catalog number reflected the year it was published). These sconces were item 6001 from the "Carleton Series". Virden bragged in its description: “Underwriters Approvedâ€.
The finish is pewter, and the shades have the typical concentric rings so very iconic of the Streamline era.
Electrical: These sconces have been totally rewired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs was installed. The backplate has a rotary On/Off switch. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Measurements:
•Overall Height: 7 ½" from the top of the shade to the bottom of the metal backplate.

So nice to be able to offer another really nice light to you. Here we have one of the scarce lights of the Deco era from Mid West MFG.
This is the 6 light Soleure chandelier. Mid West only made the best quality lighting. This chandelier is solid bronze with a great original finish.
The castings are so beautiful as well, with lots of pierced parts which are...were...so hard to do, as any casting man will tell you. The finish does have some minor flakes and thinning but it also has a nice mellow appearance and most antiquers would not touch this lovely aged finish.
This light has been totally rewired as well, with five new sockets, and a new main stem wire.
Measurements:
•Height: 30"
•Diameter: 23"...shade tip to shade tip.
•Canopy Diameter: 7"
The five shades are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, and they all match each other very well.
Price: $1,375.00, plus $50.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Circa 1935, the outward design elements, i.e..the glass shade and sconce frame are original to be seen and appreciated. It is what is behind the shade that drove our UL lighting shop back to the drawing board.
These French sconces turned out to be a work of electrical redesign with the newest state of the art LED technology to give us the results we wanted. Because these truly are French antiques, the lighting used for such a large shade (which reaches out from the wall to give a 3-D lighting effect), was originally badly designed. It gave a minimum impact for a shade of this size...and of course...used only ONE french socket for one insignificant bulb.
Measurements:
•Height: 12" tall
•Width: 6 ¾" wide
•Projection: 9 ½" from the wall into the room.
So...we went to work. We designed these with a dual use socket (called G9) with a state of the art type LED bulb (called a COB G9 bulb) to give, what we think, is a truly beautiful lighting condition. Nice that these bulbs are only 7.5 watts each, but put out a whopping 60 watts each incandescent equivalent. They also have a range of current supply of 85v to 265v, so brown outs and spikes will not effect these bulbs. And yes...California UL approved energy standard since the socket is G9 with a state of the art LED COB bulb. We have both sockets and replacement G9 7.5 watt COB bulbs available for any rewire for California or other strict new energy saving building code use.
So many elements working together for a fantastic result.
Metal...brass/bronze cast metal. The finish is silverized with dark accents...like oxidation...and if desired, can be buffed off.
Glass...amber, remarkable condition.
Changes: Mounting backplate; G-9 sockets; G9 7.5 watt LED COB bulbs.
$1,375.00 for a very nice complete & rewired pair of French sconces in original condition, except for the addition of state of the art LED lights which are included...plus $50.00 for careful Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Here’s a well known and respected name in the Art Deco world...Moe Bridges. Their catalog #35 from 1933 was an exclusive finely leather bound volume of products called: “Artistic Lighting Equipmentâ€. This is rather significant, because we are offering a very nice pair of their sconces as shown from that catalog. Moe Bridges was an American company located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
These sconces come from a group of matching lights that Moe Bridges called their “Etruscan Seriesâ€. If you like these sconces...and wish a chandelier to match, it is possible that we could have one in our stock that could be rehabbed to match.
But right now...we are offering this pair of sconces in very nice condition, and which have been rewired in our registered UL department.
Price: $764.50 for the pair, plus $50.00 for careful packing and Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
