For Sale I have a lovely piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The form is a Flower Vase and the pattern is "Clinton Ivory". The Vase More »
For Sale I have a lovely piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The form is a Flower Vase and the pattern is "Clinton Ivory". The Vase measures an impressive 9 3/4" tall and is 4 1/16" wide at the rim. It has a Base diameter of 4 11/16". The Vase depicts a flowing Art Nouveau pattern throughout that resembles "Griffins" facing each other on both sides of this wonderful piece. I believe these are leaves but they also resemble an Elephants Trunk when the Vase is turned sideways, empty of course. There is a Scroll type of decoration at both the top and bottom portion of this vase. The pattern is done on a Cream Background with an Olive Green to Cinnamon Glaze that was probably rubbed or painted on by the Artist. The Artist would have then wiped the Vase with a cloth to take away these darker colors from the High Spots thus leaving behind the residue in the lower relief areas. This helps to bring this Delightful Design to life by giving it detail without adding color. The Vase is in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. It does have crazing which is very common for this particular Glaze and does not detract from its beauty. The piece is signed with the "WELLER" Block Letter Impressed Stamp however only it is somewhat obscured by the Glaze. This Vase was made Circa 1910-1914. « Less

For Sale I have a lovely pottery set made by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pieces are known as a Console Bowl or Frog Pond and Flower Frog from the ever popular "Coppertone" line. The Console Bowl measures 3 11/16" tall to the tip of the Frogs head, approximately 10 3/4" long and 7 1/2" deep. The Flower Frog is 2 3/8" tall, 3 3/4" long and 3" deep. The Console Bowl has a watchful Frog perched ready for the next insect to fly by or ready to jump in the water. There is a Waterlily Bud next to him with Great detail and Glaze colors. The opposite end has Lily Pads and a newer Flower Bud coming into Bloom. The Flower Frog fits nicely in the center of the bowl and is a simulated mass of land with mossy covering to complete the look. There is some wonderful mottling on both of these delightful pieces. The inside and outside have lots of Copper as Pictured. The Console Bowl is stamped very faintly with the Half Kiln Ink Stamp signature as will as the letter "H" or "I" along with the finishers number 12. I have had may Coppertone Frogs with this finishers mark and would say this particular artist was an expert with the Coppertone Line. The Flower Frog is signed also with the Weller Pottery Half Kiln Ink Stamp and the number 12. Both pieces are considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. Those of you looking for an excellent example in both Glaze and Form the "Coppertone Frog Pond" is a must for your collection. The Console Bowl and Flower Frog were made Circa 1925-1930. « Less

For Sale I have a very hard to find piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The piece is a Garden Ornament Fountain Frog and the pattern More »
For Sale I have a very hard to find piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The piece is a Garden Ornament Fountain Frog and the pattern is the ever sought after "Coppertone". The Frog is very large as it measures approximately 5 1/2" tall and is 6" in diameter. It is approximately 6 1/2" in overall length. The Fountain Frog depicts a very handsome frog waiting for the next fly to buzz by for an easy meal. His colors are just great as there is a bright Green mottling over a tan to deeper copper colored background. He has bright eyes outlined with care and the accents on his mouth were carefully addressed as well. He has a circle opening in his mouth for the water to come through and an opening on the bottom for a hose to be inserted. He is undoubtedly a striking prince that would highlight any "Coppertone" or "Frog" Collection. The Fountain Ornament is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There are no chips around either of the working holes and I believe this was a shelf piece and never used for what it was intended to be. The only flaw I can find is a small white glaze miss on his left eye however it has a clear over glaze over it and is not a chip. I have been told these eyes are made of Glass. This flaw does not detract from the Frogs value or looks. The Frog is unsigned except for the number 12 written in grease pencil which is the finisher's mark. This was probably one of Weller's more meticulous artists as I have had many "Coppertone" Frogs with the number 12 written on the bottom. This Coppertone Garden Ornament "Fountain Frog" was made Circa 1926-1929. It is simply amazing the condition this one is in. I am sure the lucky buyer will be elated with their purchase!! The quality of this doesn't get any better. « Less

For Sale I have a very nice set of candlesticks made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Cornish" and it is extremely popular amongst Weller Pottery Collectors. The Candlesticks each measure approximately 3 5/16" tall and the bottom foot is 4 1/8" in diameter. The Candlesticks displays a very Pleasing Matte Mottle Blue Background Glaze. It has embossed leaves with a stem with berries hanging from the concentric ring that surrounds the lower neck of the Candlesticks on the front side. The leaves have an outstanding Green Brown life like Glaze. The berries are a deep blue and cranberry. The back side is plain and displays this wonderful Blue Mottled Glaze. This pattern has eluded me for many years as collectors don't let go of this pattern too often. The Candlesticks are considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is some Glaze imperfections and misses along the bottom edge where the Glaze appears thin. These are Factory as it was made this way. There is some crazing in the neck of each stick. There are also some red candle wax specs in various areas on each stick. I have removed most of them. The pictures show some of the Red Specs on the top side of 1 of the sticks. These do come off and are of no concern. Each candlestick is signed on the bottom with the incised Script "Weller Pottery" cipher mark along with the letter "D" in black ink on one and the letter "H" on the other. This was more than likely the Artist's or finisher's mark. Those of you who collect this Weller pattern will enjoy this form into your collection. The Cornish Pattern is a hard to find Pattern by Weller. It used to be plentiful but the collectors hand on to these nowadays. The Candlesticks are probably the hardest to find in the Pattern by Weller. I'm sure the lucky buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. These Candlesticks were made Circa 1933. « Less

For Sale I have a Lovely Vase made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Cornish" and it is extremely popular amongst Weller Pottery Collectors. The Vase is known as a Squat Shape. The Vase stands 3 1/8" tall and is 4 3/4" in diameter outside handles measurements. The Vase has a very pleasing and rare Two Toned Brown Glaze Combination. It is almost like Weller Goldenglow Glaze except it has Two Tones of Golden Brown. The Vase displays embossed leaves on a stem with berries hanging from the concentric ring that surrounds the neck of the vessel on the front side. The leaves haven an outstanding Green Brown life like Glaze. The berries are a light blue and deep blue/black. The back side is plain and displays this wonderful Brown Two Toned Glaze. This pattern has eluded me for many years. When I have come across items in this pattern, they always seem to have damage, so I never buy them. I am Happy to report this one Does Not!! The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are signs of use as there is a Calcium deposit ring on the inside of the Vase. This cannot be seen when displayed. It can also be removed by using 400 grit or higher wet sand paper. You lightly sand the raised portion while running it under water and it will come right off. The outside is very clean and sharp!! The Vase is signed on the bottom with the incised Script "Weller" cipher along with the Script letter "B" in black. This was more than likely the Artist or finisher's mark. Those of you who collect this Weller pattern will welcome this example and Rare Glaze for this Pattern. I have been a dealer and collector for some 35+ years and I have never seen Cornish made with this 2 Toned Glaze. This vase will work with that Mission Arts and Crafts Style Home. It would look just great sitting on that Stickley Bookcase. This Vase was made Circa 1933. « Less

For Sale I have a very nice piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Flemish" and it is extremely popular amongst Weller Pottery Collectors. The shape can be considered a Planter, Ferner or Bowl. The Planter 3" tall and is 6 1/8" in diameter. The Vase depicts a Garland of Roses that are glazed in a Deep Mauve to Salmon Pink. The Garland is glazed in a Caramel to Cedar Brown with Green as well as the background. There are Leaves that are surrounding the flower clusters and they are done in an Olive to Moss Green. The Pattern is a documented "Roma" Design but the Glaze is unmistakingly Flemish!! The Planter is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are minimal signs of use as there is NO Calcium deposit ring on the inside of the Vase. It appears to have been taken care of during its life. The Vase is unsigned as it the case with Flemish pieces. More than likely it had a Paper Label at one time and simply fell off with cleaning. Those of you who collect Flemish, Woodcraft or Alvin will welcome this addition to your collection. This is a very beautiful Planter or Ferner. It would also work well in any Arts and Crafts or Mission setting. The Vase was made Circa 1913-1928. « Less

For Sale I have a lovely piece of pottery made by The Weller Pottey Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a Wall Pocket and the pattern is known as "Glendale". The Wall Pocket measures 12 1/2" long, 6 1/4" in diameter and is 2 1/4" deep. The Wall Pocket depicts a naturalistic scene of a mother Bluebird with her three hungry chicks sitting in a nest. The mother sits watchfully on a nearby branch amongst flowers and leaves. The colors and detail on this piece are just fabulous. There are no glaze runs to make this piece the slightest bit distorted. It is a Cornucopia shape shape which gives substantial height to this gem. The Glendale pattern is fairly difficult to come across and the Wall Pocket even more so. The piece is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is very minor crazing that does not detract from the Wall Pocket at all. The piece is unsigned except for the mark "11X" written in grease pencil which is most likely the finishers mark. The Wall Pocket was made Circa 1920-1925. « Less
