For Sale I have a nice piece of Art Pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Silhouette" and it is in a Paneled Vase Shape. The piece of Pottery is good size as it stands 8 3/8" tall, 3 1/2" wide and 2 3/4" deep. The Vase displays a very unique Blue Green Background Glaze and a Modern Shape. There are 2 Panels, Front and Back, that display a Flower in full Bloom on a Stem or Floral Motif. These are set back into Panels with the Floral Pattern being in raised relief. This is a very pleasing pattern and will work with most decors, especially Mid Century Modern. The opposites sides are smooth and wavy. The Vase has a uniquely shaped rectangular foot. The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips, or dings. The Vase is extremely Clean and appears to have seen minimal use. The Piece is signed on the bottom "Roseville U.S.A." and the mold number 784-8" in raised relief. There is also the letter B written in a Blue Ink or Grease Pencil. This was more than likely a finishers or Artist initial. Those of you who collect Silhouette Vases and want an excellent example both in form and glaze should not let this one pass by. This is a stylistic influenced vase with sleek and chunky, bulbous and angular appearance. This Vase was made Circa 1950 just after World War II. « Less

For Sale I have one of the most desirable Art Pottery Patterns to collect and it was made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville. Ohio. The Item is a double handled "Spherical Vase" and it is done in the Highly Desirable "Sunflower" Pattern. The Vase stands 4" tall, 5 3/4" in diameter. This is a very pleasing pattern created by Roseville Pottery. The vase looks like Globe or Sphere with two ears. The piece displays Six Embossed Mature Sunflowers along the upper portion of the vase. They are supported by detailed Leaves with the curving stems joining each other at the bottom. The Sunflowers are individually defined and display a deep Yellow Glaze with the leaves being a Verdi Green with hints of Blue Glaze. They are set against a Grainy Brown Background Glaze that bleeds down from the top to a Blue Green and a much deeper Blue Glaze at the bottom. There is lots of Blue along the bottom half. The Grainy texture kind of gives this piece that added realistic look as if you were looking at the Sunflowers Growing out of the Ground. The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. It is unsigned but there is no doubt as to who made this. More than likely it had a Foil Label that simply fell off over time. There is a number 4 written in a Blue Greaze Pencil or Glaze. This was more than likely the finishers number. This is one of the harder to find shapes in the Sunflower Pattern to acquire in one's collection. This was known as shape number 213-4" in Roseville's Catalog Pages. This Vase was made Circa 1930 just prior to the Great Depression. This is a wonderful example of Roseville's Sunflower Pattern. The Mold is crisp and it has very strong Glaze Colors, especially the Blue. This piece is also very clean and appears that it was primarily used as a Cabinet piece. I'm sure the lucky Buyer will be elated with their purchase. « Less

For Sale I have a beautiful piece of Art Pottery made by The Van Briggle Pottery Company of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The shape is considered a Jardinière Vase and it is More »
For Sale I have a beautiful piece of Art Pottery made by The Van Briggle Pottery Company of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The shape is considered a Jardinière Vase and it is done in Van Briggle's most desirable Mulberry Glaze. The Vase stands 3 3/4" tall and is 4 1/2" in diameter.
The Vase displays a very pleasing Arts and Crafts Design of "Stemmed Raised Leaves". These Stems start at the bottom and rise to the top with a Leaf at the end. The Shape is similar to a "question mark" symbol. The Vase shows a very deep rich Matt Maroon Glaze with a Blue overspray on the raised or embossed leaves. The form is very nice and the detail is good.
The Vase is considered to be in very good condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips, or dings. The only issue is there is crazing in the Glaze. This is very common with the earlier Mulberry Glazes. The piece is signed on the bottom with Van Briggle's Incised Double Conjoined Logo and "VAN BRIGGLE" in Block Letters along with "U.S.A." underneath that. This clearly dates this piece to be 1922-1926 as Van Briggle used the USA incised signature mark during that time period.
Those of you who collect Van Briggle in the Mulberry Glaze will surely welcome this early addition This was known as Shape #695 in the Van Briggle Catalog Pages. This is a very nice example and I'm sure the Buyer will be happy with their purchase. « Less

For Sale I have a spectacular example of pottery made by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is the ever popular "Baldin" and the items are a Jardiniere and Pedestal. The overall height of this lovely combination is 31 7/8" tall and the Jardiniere is approximately 13 1/2" in diameter at the widest point or belly of the planter. The Pedestal is 23 1/4" tall. The Jardiniere and Pedestal depicts a Naturalistic Tree form for the Pedestal with the Jardiniere representing an Apple Tree at Harvest time. The bottom of the Pedestal is a warm earth tone Brown graduating and blending with Greens towards the top to represent the foliage. It even has open handled branches towards the top for a realistic affect. There are a few ripe apples surrounding these branches that are Red with portions of them accented with Greenish yellow tones. The Jardiniere has an all over pattern of embossed Leaves and Apples also glazed in the Earth tones and the color and details on this set is just magnificent. The Jardiniere and Pedestal are considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. Both pieces are signed with the impressed Weller Block signature. The Jardiniere has two separate Artist signatures, one on the bottom which is, I believe, MR for Marie Rauchfuss. The second signature is impressed near the bottom and shown in picture number 9 and appears to be a "RL" for Rudolph Lorder. He was the Artist at Weller that Created the "Baldin Line". There are felt squares applied to both the bottom of the Jardiniere and Pedestal to help protect from chips or dings and do not affect the value. This Jardiniere and Pedestal are sure to become one of the Lucky Buyer's favorite pieces. This pattern is referred to Baldin in most of the books but I have seen reference to it being Flemish. It also has strong similarities to Woodcraft and Alvin so it is very versatile for pairing with one of these alternate collections. This piece would work well in any Mission, Country, Adirondack or Arts and Crafts decor. I have listed shipping fees at $100.00 however this is an estimate as it depends on the zip Code as well as box dimensions. This will be shipped in two separate packages and the fees will most likely be between $75.00 and $100.00 fully insured. The box measurements will be oversized and can only be shipped UPS. « Less

For sale I have lovely Vase made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Baldin" and the piece is just delightful. The Vase measures 5 13/16" tall and is 7" in diameter. The opening has a diameter of 4".
This Vase has a wonderful Blending of Green and Brown, Earth Tone Glazes. The displays several very realistic looking Apples. The Apples are hanging from Branches and are Ripe, Plump and some are ready for Picking. The leaves have very nice coloring in them as well. The Apples are glazed in Red with Yellow and slight hues of green. I believe they are Macintosh Apples or "Macs" as we say here in the Northeast.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is a couple of pin pops and glaze misses but they are common in this glaze and do not detract from its' beauty. The bottom has rough spots where the Vase sat. This is common with the Baldin Vases as that happened when it was fired. The piece is signed with Wellers' Block Letter signature.
This Weller Baldin Vase has some wonderful coloring and detail. I'm sure the lucky winner will not be disappointed with their Purchase. This Vase will work in any Mission, Arts and Crafts or Country Decor. In Fact, I think it will work with most decors including primitives.
The Vase was produced during Weller's early Middle Period. This piece was made Circa, 1915-1920. « Less

The Wall Pocket displays a dark blue Drapery or Curtain background adorned with a Garland of Roses and Leaves in the center of the piece. The Roses are glazed in a Dusty Rose color with Sage Green Leaves. There is a flared rim at the top and this would be a wonderful piece for displaying dried flowers or Sweetheart Roses.
The piece is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The Wall Pocket is signed with the Impressed Block "WELLER" Letters. There is also a number "15" written is freehand in marker. There is light crazing on the back of the Wall Pocket however there is none visible on the front.

The Vase displays a Country Blue Drapery or Curtain background adorned with a Garland of Roses and Leaves in the center of the piece.
