Victorian, circa 1860 Large Staffordshire figure of a hunter holding game in his left hand, with more game draped over his right arm and hanging by his side. A gun lies at his feet and a russet and white dog sits by his side. Dull gilt decoration and base line. Similar piece illustrated figure 1825, page 57, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding. Fair. No hairlines. No chips. Some paint losses to the ground, gun, game, scarf and hat feather. Some rubbing to gilt. Kiln effects: craze line to the underside; overall crazing; a few touch marks to the game in hunter''s left hand. Restoration of the dog''s free molded leg. Victorian, date cipher for 1871 Wedgwood Majolica reticulated high compote decorated with a central circular green glazed pictorial panel of a three figures in a rowing boat. Surrounded by entwined yellow ribbon and ivy leaf border. Brown and yellow reticulated rim. Stand modeled with three rams heads around the top, and three feet with draping leaves at the base. Mottled reverse with stilt marks under the rim. Cream base with maker''s marks including impressed ''WEDGWOOD'', ''T'' and date cipher ''BGZ'' for 1871, and painted ''x''. Generally good. No hairlines. Minor flaking to one ram''s head. Slight wear to the rim. Kiln effect: two pieces of kiln dirt to the green center. Repair to re-join top to the base. Repair to the stand. Victorian, circa 1870 Majolica posy vase in the form of a mythological sea horse galloping over waves, the rear half of its body forming a cornucopia shaped posy vase. Horse and waves glazed in brown, the vase glazed in ochre and green. Washy ochre glaze to underside with three stilt marks and a large vent hole. Generally good. No restoration. No cracks. Tight hairline to the horse''s left ankle and another to the right thigh. No chips. Kiln effects: very tight shrinkage line to the vase rim; a few glaze pops to the underside; a few pieces of kiln detritus; small glaze miss to the vase rim. 4.25ins high, 4ins wide   « Less

Embossed clear glass candle holder rests inside the cup. Maker''s mark ''S. CLARKE PATENT TRADEMARK FAIRY'' to base of cup and candle holder. Fairy lamps originated in England in the 1840''s and are candle burning night lights that would have been used in nurseries, hallways, and dimly lit corners of the home. Similar piece illustrated on page 34, Schiffer''s ''Fairy Lamps'' by Bob and Pat Ruf. Good. No restoration. Dome: Minor nibbles around the top rim. Slight staining around the exterior base.
