Exceptional Webb cameo art glass perfume /scent bottle with sterling silver cap. Made London, England early 1880''s by Thomas Webb & Sons. Monumental 11 inches long. More »
Exceptional Webb cameo art glass perfume /scent bottle with sterling silver cap. Made London, England early 1880''s by Thomas Webb & Sons. Monumental 11 inches long. Flattened elongated oval form. Yellow glass with white overlay carved in magnificent fuchsia pattern with butterflies. Flowers in full bloom and in bud, and beautifully carved foliage. A number of butterflies flutter around the bottle. Round sterling silver cap. Original glass stopper. Gilt silver neck. The quality of the carving and it''s detail is exceptional. The white glass has a buttery feel about it. Although the name Webb does not appear, the butterflies are their signature mark and there is absolutely no doubt that they produced this bottle. The butterflies were often used in lieu of the company name spelled out. The silver cap and the gilt silver neck are both hallmarked with lion (sterling standard); leopard (for London), date letter I for 1884-5; Queen''s head facing left; and maker''s mark, which appears to be FBM (FRM?). Condition is excellent. No chips/cracks/damage/restorations of any sort. Previous owner: Acquired from Alan Tillman Antiques, London, England (1977). One of the largest lay down bottles! Status: For Sale Reference#: 3234 Condition: good Year: 1880 Title: WEBB ENGLISH CAMEO GLASS PERFUME BOTTLE 1884 SILVER « Less

Signed Thomas Webb & Sons cameo art glass perfume / scent bottle with original silver top. Made in England, 19th century. Measures 5 1/2 inches high. Bulbous bottom with More »
Signed Thomas Webb & Sons cameo art glass perfume / scent bottle with original silver top. Made in England, 19th century. Measures 5 1/2 inches high. Bulbous bottom with very long, thin neck ending in a silver collar with matching silver bulbous stopper, attached by a silver chain. The 3 layers of cased glass have been carved in a beautiful, delicate floral pattern. The colours are shades of white: cream, buttery yellow and iron red. The latter used as highlight and outline. The combination of the light colours looks like carved ivory. Beautiful dog roses and buds, clearly showing a strong Japanese influence in the treatment of delicate branches, blossoms and foliage. A ring of little flowers enclosed in double bands near the top. Colour of the underlying layer of glass seems to change from light sunshine yellow to a brighter/darker shade as it goes up the bottle. Raised glass signature THOMAS WEBB & SONS. Condition is very good. No chips/cracks/damage/restoration of any sort. Status: For Sale Reference#: 3229 Condition: good Year: 1880 Title: T WEBB CAMEO GLASS PERFUME BOTTLE CARVED IVORY « Less

William IV Sterling silver and cut glass cruet set on stand with carrying handle. Made London, England 1832 by John, Henry and Chas Lias. Length approx 10 inches and height More »
William IV Sterling silver and cut glass cruet set on stand with carrying handle. Made London, England 1832 by John, Henry and Chas Lias. Length approx 10 inches and height approx 10 1/4 inches. Shaped rectangular stand with gadrooned foliate/floral borders and beautiful shell feet. The handle consists of a series of arches - 4 sweeping from the sides and joining in the middle in a tapering stand that supports a u-shaped swirl with small scrolling ends. This in turn supports an arched handle, with the same gadrooned flowers and leaves as the bottom rim. The fitted bottles, held within support rings, stand on a platform, linked to the gently curving rim by an inverted, curving side. There are a total of 8 bottles. 4 have fuchsia shaped glass stoppers/lids. 4 have sterling silver lids, each with a finial/handle and pierced according to the function of the bottle: one with swirling reticulation used as a sugar sifter, one with small holes, for salt/pepper. Two with closed lids - one for mustard and one with a long, silver spoon attached to the indside of the lid. The glass is faceted and cut in a variety of columnar and circular designs. Very solid, stable appearance. Rings at terminals of two arches for holding stoppers when bottle is in use. Silver is hallmarked: Monarch facing right, lion passant, date letter ''r'' for 1832. Leopard head indicating London. Makers marks (some slightly worn) are IL over HL over CL for John, Henry and Chas Lias. Condition is generally very good. THe rims of the bottles have small imperfections, as is to be expected and one of them has a fairly large rim chip, clearly shown in the ''photos. Set of 6 sterling silver overlaid cut glass open salts in their original, fitted box. Made early 20th century. Each salt is a little over 1 1/2 inches diameter and slightly under 1/2 inch in height. The salts have a nicely cut floral looking sun burst that covers almost the entire bottom surface. The rims are entirely covered in silver and the sides have a scrolling design in silver overlay, in the Art Nouveau style. Each salt is hallmarked - engraved marks are difficult to read, but appear to be 925 over 1000 FINE and 3 circles, the central one with a capital A in it, followed by number eg 3C or 96. The condition of all of the salts is very good, with no chips/cracks/restoration. The box is 7 1/4 - 7 1/2 inches square. The fitted bottom is made of deep forest green velvet. The rest is embroidered silk in the same colour. Besides a little wear to the silk on the corners, the box is in good condition. The bright gold coloured clasp is very pretty, but is missing the little latch that connects top to bottom (see ''photos).
