circa: 1890 width: 95.5 height: 79 length: 26 This stunning antique wardrobe was hand-crafted in Victorian England around 1890. The wood is an exquisite selection of flame mahogany, with a deep, lustrous complexion and a pronounced grain that have grown more beautiful over the years with the slow development of a lovely patina. The result is a wardrobe that is not only stunning but also highly functional, with two separate cabinets and five large drawers. Each of the two cabinets or closet sections contains a bar and several hooks, while each of the drawers features hand-cut dovetailed joints. This wardrobe disassembles into the moulding on either closet, the closets themselves, the central drawer section, and the base--so movement and assembly is made easy. This wardrobe has sustained some surface wear, including various dings and stress marks in the wood, but otherwise this wardrobe remains very sturdy, so overall condition is very good.   « Less

Today, the pine remains as beautiful as ever, with a rich complexion and a distinct grain. The rustic design of the armoire is also quite charming, and the carved crest makes for a lovely final touch. Inside the armoire is a single brass bar for hanging clothes, and at the bottom is a single drawer. This armoire has sustained a significant amount of general surface wear consistent with age, including separations in the wood on the doors, on both sides and in the moulding around the top. Additionally, one of the corner pieces appear to have been replaced at some point, and both keyholes once had brass escutcheons but they have been lost. Otherwise, this armoire remains very sturdy and in good overall condition.   « Less

circa: 1780 width: 62 height: 95 length: 26 This beautiful antique armoire was French-made around 1780 during the reign of Louis XVI. The wood is solid walnut--a rare thing in itself by contemporary standards but common enough in the 18th century--with a lovely patina, a rich complexion and a striking grain. The carved paneling looks rather elegant, while the top of the armoire itself is framed to match the sinuous patterns in the paneling. Likewise, the small cabriole feet make quite an impression, while they are also quite sturdy. The armoire doors lock with an accompanying key, allowing you to conveniently store your things, whether you use this armoire for clothing or as a TV cabinet, either of which uses would be perfect for this piece. All hardware is original. Conveniently, this large armoire does ''flat pack,'' meaning that it disassembles for shipping and easy movement and so will need to be assembled upon arrival to your home. Although there are numerous stress marks and repairs as well as a few cosmetic separations in the wood (the frequency and character of which are consistent with the age of this armoire), it does remain in excellent structural condition. In fact, very few pieces from the time of Louis XVI survive, so it is doubly remarkable that this armoire remains in such good condition.   « Less

circa: 1910 width: 54 height: 62 length: 22 This beautiful antique mahogany wardrobe was crafted in Edwardian England around 1910. The distinct mahogany grain and warm complexion has been enriched by the patina the wood has developed over the past 90+ years. The most stunning flame mahogany makes up this amazing piece. Each door is adorned with a beautiful carving above the panel. Both the moulding and carving display the skill of the craftsman who created this gorgeous piece. There is a generous amount of storage space created by six drawers and a shelf on the right side and one drawer and multiple hooks on the other. Each drawer boasts solid-brass hardware and dovetailed drawer joints. This wardrobe separates into four pieces, the crown moulding, the plinth base and either side of the cabinet. Therefore making this piece perfect for moving and shipping. There is a lock and key. There are some minor imperfections to the finish and some crackling around the moulding and base (see pictures). Otherwise this Edwardian flame mahogany wardrobe is in fantastic condition and will continue to function beautifully for generations to come!   « Less

circa: 1910 width: 76 height: 81 length: 28 This beautiful antique mahogany triple armoire was hand-crafted in Edwardian England around 1910. Over the years, the mahogany has developed a lovely patina that enriches the its distinct, wispy grain and lustrous complexion. Complementing the mahogany are a variety of characteristically Edwardian inlays, including satinwood, ebony wood, flame mahogany and quarter veneers. The bowfront central section of the triple armoire also looks quite elegant, as do the dental moulding and the darker hand-carved knobs, which form a wonderful complement to the mahogany. The interior sections of this antique armoire feature shelving and solid-brass hanging bars; there are two shelves but three areas for shelves, meaning you can configure this piece to suit your needs. In the pictures shown here, the right section of the armoire does not have a shelf so that longer garments may be hung from the bar. Each drawer features hand-cut dovetailed joints, which indicates fine craftsmanship and firm construction, both of which are clearly evident in this antique armoire.As do most antique armoires of its kind, this triple armoire does break down into five pieces--the top, bottom and three main sections--and this is how the armoire will ship. Although structural integrity remains strong, this armoire has sustained significant wear, including half of a missing backplate on one knob, stress marks along the base, a missing door pin (pictured below), minor veneer crackling (pictured below), and warped left and right doors. The doors do operate smoothly and stay shut, however. The locks also do not function, and the center door is missing an escutcheon. This mahogany antique armoire offers not only classic Edwardian elegance but also an incredible amount of storage space and versatile utility, so it would make an excellent addition to any home furniture collection!   « Less

circa: 1900 width: 46 height: 80 length: 21 This beautiful antique solid-oak wardrobe was hand-crafted in Late Victorian England around 1900. Since then, the wood has developed the loveliest of patinas, which enriches the distinct oak grain and warm complexion. Solid-brass hardware complements the wood quite well, while various carvings, paneling and moulding display the beautiful craftsmanship that formed this gorgeous Late Victorian wardrobe. Each strong drawer features hand-cut dovetailed joints--a sign of fine construction--while the mirror features elegant beveled edges. Inside the tall section are a set of hooks and a bar for convenient clothing storage. While this oak wardrobe does contain many locks, it does not retain its key. The left and right sections can be separated and lifted off of the base for easy movement and shipping. There is very little wear on this wardrobe, although a piece of the dental moulding has come off (shown below) and the hardware is a bit tarnished. The mirror has sustained very little spotting, which is an inevitable feature of century-old mirrors. Otherwise this Late Victorian oak wardrobe is in fantastic condition and will continue to function beautifully for generations to come!   « Less
