Victorian, circa 1860 Pair Staffordshire spill vases in the form of a boy and girl sat on a mound, each feeding a zebra which is carrying baskets of fruit on its back. Two legs of each zebra are molded free. Shredded clay decoration to the ground, baskets and spill. Dull gilt base line and decoration. Similar pair illustrated figure 2411/2412, page 172, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding. Good. Some rubbing to gilt. Boy: Kiln effects: overglazed bruise to base edge at reverse; shrinkage line to tree branch; two shrinkage cracks inside the spill; craze line to upper base edge. Restored flake to hat brim. Pre-Victorian, circa 1830 Early Staffordshire Sherratt-type table base bocage figure of Saint Peter. Title on a plaque at the front. Saint Peter is kneeling on the ground holding a sword in his right hand, and with keys in his left. A larger key lies on the ground below. There is a bible on one side of the tree and a cockerel on the other side. Decorated all round. Generally good. No cracks. No hairlines. Chips to feet. A few paint losses to reverse of tree. Kiln effects: glaze miss to right leg; touch mark to head. Repair to neck and sword. Top left and top right bocage sections rebuilt. Old repairs to two table feet. Victorian, circa 1870 George Jones Majolica figure group of three putti, each draped in a lilac shawl and standing on a trefoil shaped, acanthus molded base. Two of the putti are wearing garlands on their heads, and one is holding a bundle of wheat. Turquoise plinth base with mottled green, brown and ochre glazes around the lower edge and to the underside. Three stilt marks inside the base. Originally, this was probably the base of a compote. Good. No chips. No flakes. Kiln effect: over glazed shrinkage lines to four ankles. Repair to neck of all three. Repaired cracks to face of one putto, running down over chest. Retouched flaking to heads where the compote top probably used to sit. 8.5ins high « Less

Good creamy glaze with blue tinge. Vent hole to reverses. Painted mark to underneath of both Girl: Good. No restoration. No hairlines. No chips. Minor paint losses to enamels. One flake to her nose. Gilt rubbed. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack around the front of foot rim, another above the dog''s tail, and a couple to the top of his free molded leg, very minor kiln soot caught in the glaze to reverse.
