Pre-Victorian, circa 1820 Staffordshire Pearlware ''Tythe Pig'' figure group depicting the scene of a vicar and two parishioners standing on a naturalistic base before a bocage tree. On the ground are two small pigs, a basket of eggs and bundles of hay. The lady is holding a baby in her arms and the man is holding a pig. Decorated all round. Fair. A few paint losses to the ground. All but two of the bocage leaves are restored replacements. Restoration to man''s arm and hat. Repair across his legs. Restoration to the basket and handle. Victorian, circa 1880 Large pair Staffordshire russet and cream seated spaniels with bright gilt collar, locket and chain. Ochre eyes, black muzzles and red mouths. Vent hole to reverses. Good. Some rubbing to gilt. Right facing: Small bruise to right ear. Kiln effects: tight shrinkage hairline to underside, just visible between front and hind paw; smudging of right eyebrow and eyeline; kiln soot to top of head, reverse and tail; staining to tail; some stray black enamel to the reverse and over the spaniel''s back. Retouching to the russet marking above front leg. Left facing: Kiln effects: kiln soot to top of head; staining to chest, reverse and tail. Victorian, circa 1870 Majolica Isle of Man teapot modeled as a three legged bearded Manx sailor sitting on a coil of rope. His third leg sticks out behind him to form the spout. Head forms the teapot cover. He wears turquoise trousers, a cobalt blue shirt, a scarf around his neck and a brown hat. Cream interior with drainage holes at base of spout. Brown underside with three stilt marks. Good. Teapot: Small flake to toe of left boot. Kiln effects: some glaze run to exterior; fine kiln soot caught in the glaze to collar. Title to front of bases in raised capitals read ''GARIBALDI'' and ''C. PEARD''. Shredded clay decoration underneath the front leg of each horse. Dull gilt titles and decoration. Vent hole to reverse of Garibaldi. Garibaldi: Good. Some rubbing to gilt. Repaired crack to hind right ankle of horse. Retouching to the black enamel. Peard: Generally good. No restoration. George IV, circa 1820 c.1820 Silkwork Sampler by Mary Marshall. Framed in a modern wood and gilt frame with glass. Stitched to linen over card wood backing. The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches. Meandering floral border. Colours green, cream, blue, gold, pink, light green and black. Verse titled ''The Prayer of Agar Prov XXX v 7.8.9'' reads ''Two things have I required of thee deny me them> not before I die . remove far from me Vanity and> Lies give me neither poverty nor riches. feed me> with food. convenient for me. lest I be full and> deny thee. and say who is the Lord OF lest I> be poor and steal. and take the Name of my> God in Vain''. Signed and dated ''Mary Marshall Aged 9 Years''. A wonderful set of motifs, including a house with a garden, flanked by trees, fruit basket, crowns, butterflies, potted flowering plants, trees, birds and stags. Fair. A few holes and several repairs. A few stains around the edge, and uniform age darkening of the ground. No stitch losses other than to the holed areas. Colours are slightly faded, but the silks remain bright and glossy. Slight colour run around the black threads. Neatly and evenly stretched.
