Circa 1880 Choisy le Roi Majolica centerpiece bowl and stand. Bowl in the form of an upturned nautilus shell supported by coral, on a base molded as seaweed with cockle shells and yellow flowers. Turquoise interior. Turquoise underside with impressed and painted maker''s marks. Stand in the form of a scallop shell with coral molding around the center, inside which the bowl stands. Three lily pads molded at the shell base. Turquoise reverse with impressed and painted maker''s marks. Good. No restoration. Bowl: Slight wear to interior. Kiln effects: some roughness to the glaze in places; crazing to interior and exterior of nautilus shell; uneven glaze application around the rim. Stand: Small ''nibbled'' area to rim. Victorian, circa 1880 Thomas Forester & Sons Majolica cheese dome and stand. Cobalt dome molded with four panels separated by a bamboo border. Each panel is decorated with a stork amongst reeds and pond lilies. Bamboo molded handle and dragonflies on top of the dome. Green interior with a painted mark. The stand is molded with pond lily leaves and flowers around the edge on a light green ground. Mottled green and brown glazes to center and underside. Painted mark in reserve to underside. Victorian, circa 1840 Staffordshire bust of the Primitive Methodist, William Clowes (1780-1851). He was born at Burslem, Staffordshire, on 12 March 1780, son of William Clowes, potter, and of Ann, daughter of Aaron Wedgwood, grandson of Gilbert Wedgwood and employed during his early years as a working potter. He was one of the founders of Primitive Methodism, and became one of the best-known preachers of the new society. Plaque to front of pedestal base with inscription ''W.M. CLOWES primitive methodist preacher''. Decorated all round. Printed maker''s mark to reverse ''B.S. & T. BURSLEM''. This is the mark of Barker, Sutton & Till, Sytch Pottery, 1834-1843. Generally good. No hairlines. Small flake to left arm and another underneath jacket. Slight wear to back of head. Kiln effect: stain to top of head. Extensive repairs to base.
