Very neat shell motif pair of British theatre style sconces. These sconces are often called “Odeon Sconces,†since main movie house chains in Britain named all of their theatres “Odeonâ€. In fact...it sometimes is a synonymous term for a movie theatre when in Britain.
These sconces had frosted, amber and even pink tinted shades around the turn of the century. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century or more.
This particular pair is a more recent manufacturer, but still retains the ambiance and magic of the very earliest types.
We have re-wired these sconces to updated UL standards with new medium base sockets, switches, and wiring. These are ready to hang with an American standard light mounting kit, which we will supply.
Measurements: 9†tall to the bottom of the switch, with a width of 10 1/2â€. Protrudes a mere 4†into the room.
Price: $550.00 for the pair, with their amber shades, plus $20.00 for ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
Attention residents of Alaska/Hawaii and International Customers: additional shipping costs will be invoiced separately after check out. $20.00 will be credited towards your total shipping costs. Grey pewter finished single light pendant with amber inserted glass window.
Pewter finish, this fixture is perfect for a smaller room.
Measures a mere 10†in overall height, while it has a diameter of 11 1/2â€, which is the metal shade’s diameter.
It is lit by a single standard socket within that will accept a 100 watt light bulb. We did not power it up for pictures as too strong of bulb blows out the focus of our camera lens. We always use small 25 watt or lower bulbs in our pictures so the detail of the light fixture itself is revealed.
The amber glass window is simply so iconic with it’s circular ring motif.
Very nicely done, as the pictures will show.
We completely re-wired this wonderful light to UL standards. We will include a bulb extender, as shown, but you could also shorten the light a little by shortening the chains that suspend the bowl. Might wish to do that to reduce visibility of the center a mite, although for age and favor it is often deemed favorable to see that.
Price: $324.50...plus $30.00 for careful packing and Ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

So nice to be able to offer another really nice light to you. Here we have one of the scarce lights of the deco era from Mid West MFG.
This is the 5 light Soleure chandelier. Mid West only made the best quality lighting. This chandelier is solid bronze with a great original finish.
The castings are so beautiful as well, with lots of pierced parts which are...were...so hard to do, as any casting man will tell you. The finish does have some minor flakes and thinning but it also has a nice mellow appearance and most antiquers would not touch this lovely aged finish.
This light has been totally re-wired as well, with five new sockets and a new main stem wire. The drop of this light now is 30 inches, and it has a diameter of about 20 inches.....shade tip to shade tip. The ceiling canopy measures about 7 inches in diameter. The five shades are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, and they all match each other very well.
Measurements: Overall height is 30"; overall diameter is 20".
Price: $1,650.00, plus $50.00 for ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
Attention residents of Alaska/Hawaii and International Customers: additional shipping costs will be invoiced separately after check out. $50.00 will be credited towards your total shipping costs. A well known name in Art Deco Americana lighting is “Moe Bridgesâ€. There are existing catalogs, from the 1930's, that show his lines. This pendant comes from the series that Moe Bridges called the “Etruscan Seriesâ€.
This two shade, single light, pendant was presented in his 1935 catalog as stock number 330-PL-1 and described as: “One light pendant Lantern. Spread 6 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches. Length 36 inches. Price $6.90†Now, we cannot offer the same price as 1935, but we thought we would pass along what it sold for at that date. And while the original 1935 (as delivered) length was 36â€, ours has been shortened to 19 1/2†for modern ceilings at some time.
Completely re-wired to UL standards with a new socket, and now ready to install. It uses only one bulb, but it can be 100 watts easily. The shades are in great condition. We used a low wattage bulb for the pictures so as to not blow-out the focus of the camera lens. Using a larger bulb, in actual usage, will give a much brighter appearance.
Comes complete with all the mounting hardware.
The finish is old gold and original.
Price: $650.00, plus $50.00 for careful packaging and Ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
Note: Residents of Alaska/Hawaii and International Customers: additional shipping costs will be invoiced separately before shipment. The $50.00 charged at check-out will be credited towards your shipping total. Please contact us if you would like a shipping quote before purchase. We will be happy to oblige! « Less

Top of the line, Markel produced circa 1930's, cast iron chandelier with a dark red bronze finish. A true high end quality original cast iron antique frame with a lovely reddish bronzed finish. Circa 1930 by Markel.
This 6 shade chandelier was top-of-the-line. Markel 8800 series of slip shade lighting used this style of shade...and only one family of lights did use this shade. Markel did not give names to his series of lights, only numbers. So, this chandelier had the number 8836, which was a 7 light (socket) chandelier with six shades. Absolutely the top of this 8800 line. The bottom shade has two sockets for two smaller bulbs.
The bronzed finish is simply superb. This fixture is in oh-so-near-mint condition. The shades are simply in fantastic condition. The only thing that might be worth noting is that the bottom shade has just a slightly different hue than the slip shades. This is a common occurrence with 6 shade fixtures, since the glass slip shades and bottom shade were usually made at different times, in different molds by different glass workers, but this should still be noted.
Measuring 30" tall, with a diameter of about 20" from shade tip to shade tip, this is truly a magnificent offering. The decor of this chandelier is simply stunning. If you have been holding back for that truly outstanding piece, we believe that this could be it.
To make it better, please note that this antique fixture has been completely rewired with new sockets, and new wire, and is ready to hang. A new three way switch, to replace the old one, was installed so you can directly control the fixture from the light itself. The switch will allow you to turn on the sockets in the bottom shade only, or two of the slip shades only, or everything all at once...and of course--off. There are three “on†positions with this switch as well as “offâ€. Many folks simply use chandeliers, with this 3-way option switch, in the “all on†position selected.
A full mounting crossbar set will be included with this chandelier.
A note about the pictures...while there is a slight difference in the bottom shade from the side slip shades, they are ALL a light amber color. The 5 slip shades that surround the fixture DO match perfectly, and are all a light amber color. Where those greens and strange other colors came from (in our pictures), can only be explained by Nikon or a professional camera person, of which, we are not. We assume it had something to do with using incandescent light bulbs and then different media flood lights. Best shade color picture probably is the close-up finial picture.
Price: $1,650.00, plus $50.00 for careful packaging and Ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
Note for Residents of Alaska/Hawaii and International Customers: additional shipping costs will be invoiced separately before shipment. Fine Streamline Art Deco six shade chandelier...circa 1935 - 1937. The six shade versions of any light were always top of the line for all Art Deco slip shade series.
This nice chandelier is finished in the “Venetian Bronze†finish. It was available in this nice old gold finish, with nickel highlights, during the '30's. It was definitely a contrast that was part of the Streamline statement in lighting.
This chandelier has been totally re-wired in our UL approved shop, with new sockets and wires, and is ready to go. We will even supply a mounting kit so you can have it hung-up in no time.
Nice original finish and shades. The metal is showing some of it’s 80 or so years, but the finish is probably considered “good†for this age.
Measurements: 18†tall (could be lengthened by adding more chain), with a diameter of 16â€.

A hard to find set of four circa 1920-30 set of sconces, with great custard glass shades. The custard shades are in very good condition and seem to match the rounded decorative elements of the backplate quite well. The metal is finished in an antique hi/lo pewter look, and has some interesting decorative elements reflecting an Edwardian appeal.
Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs have been installed in each. The on/off rotary switch is mounted onto the backplate, which renewed an identical one by Leviton. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
A very nice Set of FOUR American made sconces.
Measurements: 9 1/2†tall. The shade has a maximum diameter of 5 1/2â€, while the backplate measures 9 1/2†by 4 3/4†wide (at the widest point). These lights project into a room from the wall at 7â€.
For the complete, re-wired set of 4 sconces: $650.00 plus $25.00 for careful packing and shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
