Whimsical antique Art Deco figural chandelier with original slipper shades and polychrome finish circa 1930's. The chandelier begins with a canopy adorned with foliate and rosette motifs, coming down in a chain to a top finial outlined with volutes and a repeating foliate design. The five-pronged body is ornamented with alternating butterfly and floral panels that support each glass slip-in shade with a gadrooned bottom and geometric petal design. The bottom of the chandelier is embellished with leafy detail ending in a tapered hexagonal finial. The chandelier is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the shades, just the expected fleabites around the edges. This is a striking antique five-light iron and nickel Art Deco semi-flush mount chandelier with sit-in shades from the 1930’s, in its original finish. The chandelier begins with an understated canopy that leads into a simple black ball finial. Five tapered arms extend from the base of the fixture, intersecting with two concentric iron rings that run around the interior of the chandelier. Each arm supports a sleek Art Deco shade holder with a custard shade. Each shade is bordered in a stylized garland pattern. This handsome pair of antique Art Deco sconces from the 1930’s, features original batwing slip shades and original polychrome finish. The backplate of each of the sconces complements the shade with a fanlight detail and tapers with an undulating scroll to the base of the fixture. Beneath the slip-in glass shade, the front is ornamented with a tiered foliate in red and green polychrome. The sconces are in excellent conditions, and the slipper shades are also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, just the expected flea bites around the edge. A¬n outstanding antique Art Deco five-light iron chandelier, dating from the 1920’s. The chandelier begins with an flared canopy coming down in a chain to a loop finial with a scalloped interior. The tiered chandelier base features a stylized checkerboard pattern and is accented with alternating silver blocks. Underneath, five ziggurat- style arms protrude from the domed lower base, each supporting a bobeche with a ziggurat border and spike finial. A diamond-shaped finial finishes off the base of the fixture. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. A true high-end quality, original, cast iron, antique frame with a lovely reddish bronzed finish. Circa 1935. This Art Deco slip shade chandelier was top-of-the-line for this series of Art Deco lighting using this type of shade. The reddish-bronzed finish is simply superb. This fixture is in oh-so-near-mint condition. The shades are simply in fantastic condition. Measuring 27 1/2" tall, with a diameter of about 21 1/2" from shade tip to shade tip, this is truly a magnificent offering. The decor of this chandelier is simply stunning. If you have been holding back for that truly outstanding chandelier of this type, we believe that this might be it. To make it better, please note that this antique fixture has been completely re-wired with all new sockets, new wire, and is ready to hang. Unique is the fact that this chandelier has a three way switch. Since the center has a socket, it can be lighted separately to use as a low level ambiance or as a night light. Then a rotary turn to the next position lights up 2 of the outside shades while the third turn lights everything. Note also that the center glass has a beveled top edge that picks up the light nicely. Each of the outside shades is capable of accepting a 100 watt bulb...or...purchase our optional 60-WW-E26 LED Art Deco looking bulb. It consumes only 7 watts while putting out about 75 watts of incandescent equivalent lighting. LED bulbs makes running a chandelier all night long, perhaps as a strong nite lite, very economical indeed. Original antique sconces with the original antique brass finish. The shades are really quite lovely. They are beautiful Bohemian cobalt blue overlay crystal with a hand cut design. Simply elegant, and quality to the maximum. With a strong bulb, they give an ambiance that is quite lovely with the sparkle of the cut crystal. Add to the shades the nice crystal drops, and we have a simply lovely and elegant pair of sconces. Not easy to find quality like this. We took our picture with a mere 15 watt bulb so the camera lens would focus on the entire sconce and shade detail...not get blown out by too strong of bulb. These sconces have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with all new sockets and new wire. We have also replaced the rotary switches, made by Leviton in the 20’s...and were still made up to ONE year ago. So these switches by Leviton are becoming even more antique as we note this. Measurements: The overall sconce height is 12 1/2”. The maximum width (including the shade) is 5”. It will project into the room from the wall 7”. Backplate Measurements: 10 3/8” tall by 4 1/2” wide.
