For sale I have a beautiful Art and Crafts Style Bowl made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Mostique" and the form is a Bowl or Planter. The Planter measures 2 13/16" tall and is 7 1/2" in diameter on the outside. The opening measurement is 5 15/16" wide.
The Planter is accented with Indian Stylized Flowers, Vines, Leaves and Berries. There are wonderful Lilac and Sky Blue Flowers set on dark caramel brown branches. The piece is balanced with Blue Berries and Light Olive to Moss Green leaves. The interior of the bowl is done in a deep green waterproofing glaze. This pattern was created to pay Homage to the North American Indian and the patterns seem to vary.
The piece is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is a very small glaze miss at the rim and is considered factory. There are also a couple of glaze misses on the blue flowers as this is quite common with this Glaze combination from Roseville. This is known as shape number 164-7 in the Roseville Catalog Pages. The piece is unsigned as is the case with the Mostique Pattern Line. The Mostique Pattern Line probably had a paper or foil label at one time.
This Mostique Pattern works splendid with the Mission Arts and Crafts Style of Decor. it would look just wonderful on that Stickley Bookcase. This Planter was made Circa 1915. « Less

For sale I have a lovely piece of pottery made by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. It is an Oblong Sectional Vase and the pattern is Blue Drapery. The piece is 4 1/4" tall and is 5 13/16" wide and is 3 1/16" deep.
The Vase displays a Country Blue Drapery or Curtain background adorned with a Garland of Roses and Leaves in the center of the piece. The Roses are glazed in a Dusty Rose color with Sage Green Leaves. There are three sections or partitions in the Vase and this would make a great pencil or toothbrush holder or you could use it for what it was originally made for which is Flowers.
The piece is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The Vase is signed with the Impressed Block "WELLER" Letters. There is also a letter written is freehand in marker but is was smudged in the making so it is illegible. There is a glaze pop on one side of the Vase but it does not detract from this unique shaped piece.
The piece has a Victorian Flair to it but would also work well in any Country Decor. The Vase was made Circa 1915. « Less

For Sale I have a wonderful piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Malverne or Malvern" as it is spelled both ways. The Shape is considered a Double Handled Planter or Jardinière. The Planter is a good size as it stands 4 1/2" tall to the top of the Handles and 6 7/8" in diameter outside handles measurements. The Planter Displays wonderful Raised or Embossed Leaves that have a Twig or Branch attached on a Fern or Tree Bark textured background. These Branches on each leaf rise from the leaf up to the Top and Form the Two Looped Handles on each Side. What a Nice Organic feel this Pot has!! The Glaze is another story in its own. The lower background has a very pleasing Dark Mauve Mottled background Glaze with the Top Half being a Mottled Green Fern Colored Glaze. The Branches are done in a Matt Black Glaze. The Interior is as beautiful as the Exterior. It displays a Mottled Pea Green at the Bottom to a deeper Mottled Fern Green at the top. This Glaze is simply Gorgeous!! The Planter is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Pieces is signed on the bottom with the Incised "Weller Pottery" written in Script Signature Mark. There is also the number 12 written in Black Ink or Glaze. This was more than likely the finishers number. Those of you who collect the Malverne Pattern and want an excellent example both in form and Glaze Combination should not let this one slip by. The piece was made Circa 1927-1933. « Less

For saleI have a Wonderful Piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a Log Planter or Window Box and the pattern is the ever popular "Woodcraft". The Planter measures 9 1/2" long and is approximately 4 1/4" deep. The Log measures approximately 4 3/4" high at the arch of the Handle.
The Planter depicts a tree bark background with Oak Leaves embossed on both sides of the piece. The Glaze is a soft Caramel blended with Moss Green. It is very life like and also has the knots for a realistic look. There are four branches coming off the bottom of the Planter for the feet along with a twig style handle complete with the tree bark detailing. Both of the ends are smooth and the artist that made this even did alternating green and honey brown rings to depict the circles that happen naturally as the tree ages.
The log is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is a hole in each of the feet that are from when it was manufactured and I believe these are the stilt marks. There are also a couple of pin pops but they are common with this glaze and do not detract from the beauty of this whimsical Log. The Planter is unsigned but guaranteed to be Vintage Weller.
This piece was made Circa 1917-1928. Those of you who collect Woodcraft pieces will surely Welcome this one into your collection. This would look just wonderful on that Stickley. Mission, Arts and Crafts Style Bookcase. « Less

For Auction is a jardiniere made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is the rare "Matt Green" Pattern Line. The Planter stands 3 7/8" Tall and More »
For Auction is a jardiniere made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is the rare "Matt Green" Pattern Line. The Planter stands 3 7/8" Tall and is 5 3/4" in diameter outside handles measurement.
The Jardiniere displays Four Deep Matt Green Panels with two looped Buttress Handles at the top on each side that resemble ears. This hard to find pattern and Deep Green Glaze says, "Arts and Crafts" the whole way. The Shape is considered a Flower Pot in the Roseville Catalog Pages. A splendid piece of Art Pottery.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, dings. There is a tiny flea nick in the glaze on one of the handles pictured and there are a few areas that are weak in the glaze on the inside top border of the Pot. This is considered insignificant and does not affect the value what so ever. There are some pin pops as well. The Piece is unsigned but has the Mold number 548 impressed into the bottom and it is glazed over in Matt green. You can see the Ohio Valley Yellow Beige outer border. This is the tell tale sign of Early Roseville.
The Books state that these were usually unsigned and sometimes displayed the shape number impressed into the bottom like this one. This piece can be found in the reference book, "Roseville in All Its Splendor" by Jack and Nancy Bomm page 219 top left center and this is the 4" Version. This is known as a Roseville Matt Green 548-4 Flower Pot in Roseville's Catalog Pages.
The piece was made Circa 1910. Those of you who collect Matt Green and Arts and Crafts Design Pottery will surely Welcome this one into your collection. This would look just wonderful on that Stickley. Mission, Arts and Crafts Style Bookcase.
