This is a wonderful chrome red candle holder in jug form. The glaze has a good streaky chrystalline texture. The base is unmarked, but has traces of black, possibly made by Smithfield. The condition is very good. It has a small grinding flake to the base and a little roughness to the outside bottom edge of the excised area. This beautiful centerpiece and candle holders is Italian Capodimonte, entirely hand made and glazed. The color is the natural white with a glossy glaze. It is in very good condition, with only minor repairs and some tiny chips, not easily visible. The repairs are to two of the stems and the tip of one leaf. Photos show the areas. They do not detract from the beauty of this piece; the tiny chips are difficult or impossible to find, even knowing where to look (I used a magnifying glass and 1/2 hour to go over the piece). This item is extremely delicate, and that there are no missing pieces is exceptional. To be packaged and shipped fully insured.Condition: good, Circa early to mid 1900's, Italy. Marked on the bottom of each piece with the crowned N of Naples, and Made in Italy on the two candle holders.Center piece dimensions: Height: 6 in. (15.24 cm) x Depth: 8.5 in. Signed Walter Bosse Wiener Werkstatte / Werkstadt pair of Art Deco figural candlesticks. Boy and Girl figurine, each holding a pair of candleholders in their hands. Made Vienna, Austria early 20th century (1920-30''s). 9inches high to top of holder in boy''s right hand. Beautifully designed Art Deco figurines typical of the fun Werkstatte style. Peasant youths. Smiling faces with chubby cheeks glazed like peaches. Incised eyes and brows. Lovely moulding to mouths and noses and hair and slightly stylised, slightly naturalistic modelling of bodies and headwear. Exxaggerated feet. Wonderful colouring to the glazes - dark forest green (looks almost black), shades of red, pale green, blue and purple. Each figure has incised maker''s mark H. BEI over WIEN, done to look like a house. Some kiln crackling to the glaze (only) underneath the girl figure, original to the piece (see ''photos), but no damage. Pair of Art Nouveau candlesticks in the form of angles / winged cherubs with applied flowers, made by the Plaue factory owned by Schierholz, in Plaue Thuringia, late 19th century.(the factory operated 1880-1906). Meissen quality.Measure 6 3/4inches high.Each candlestick stands on an ornate swirling tripod base, richly adorned with applied flowers in pink and blue with green stems. Richly highlighted in gold. A beautifully modelled angelic face with blond curls and puce wings supports a flowerform drip pan, and acanthus moulded candlestick, again with rich gilding.Each stick is marked with a double crossed line, somewhat in immiatation of the Meissen mark. One stick also has an impressed number 42.Condition is excellent. Blacklight shows no restorations. Victorian, circa 1870 Minton Majolica candlestick modeled as a putto sat on a column, with a vase forming the sconce which is resting on her shoulder. Floral headdress and loin cloth draped over shoulder and over one thigh. Decorated with striking ochre, cobalt, green, brown, cream and pink glazes. Green underside with impressed ''MINTONS'' maker''s mark. Good. Tiny flakes to toes of right foot. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack to putto''s left thigh; shrinkage line to base edge. Repaired cracks to base. Repair to putto''s neck, left arm and vase. Restoration of her right thumb. Restored chip to her head and sconce. 10.5ins high   « Less
