Circa 1780 Chinese Export Mandarin Palette Punch Bowl measuring 10" in diameter and 4 3/8"" in depth and height. This is one of the best mandarin bowls in this medium size that I have ever had. The mandarin pattern in this bowl is absolutely breath taking. The painting of these scenes running into the other scenes are just great. Nothing else to be said. Just observe these images. Circa 1770 Chinese Export 10" Punch Bowl made for the European Market. Beautiful famille rose diapering on the top inside of the bowl with of a flower on the inside center bottom. The outside of the bowl has circular scene of a cow,bull or ox that is very well done. A Beautiful Butterfly in the sky and nicely decorated. Beautiful roses and a urn eith many flowers. also a tree with butterflies and unusual insects nicely decorated flying at the top of bowl near the top border. In the center of all this are two Bulls, Cows or Ox. Quite unusual and probably made for the European Market. Circa 1780 Chinese Export Tea Bowl with a monogrammed initial with streamers and two hearts. This is lowenstoft, as Elinor would say. A tea bowl measuring 3 1/2" in diameter andv 1 7/8" in depth. The outside border is 80% rubbed off from handling over the past 200 years. The border on the inside is decorated with blue stars with a goldish swag that is not worn too badly. The outside center is a armorial crest with streamers of blue and gold ribbons going down toward a crest with two blue hearts decorated in blue stars with the monogrammed initials of L M W. I have no idea who it was for or if it is historically important, but for the price it would make a great holiday gift to a collector.   « Less

Circa 1840 Chinese Export Sacred Bird and Butterfly Shallow Soup Plate measuring over 9 7/8" in diameter and a hair over 1 1/2" in depth. To find this size soup plates in the bird and butterfly pattern is Rare. I remember years ago when I acquired a 200 piece set in Maine it had soup plates but they were about 9" in diameter as I recall. This is a beautiful plate with a nice tight pattern filled with orange birds, butterflies,tree branches and leaves. Very Good Condition with nice gilded border with no chips. Might be a little nick repair but nothing more than that no restoration that I can see.   « Less

CIRCA 1840-1850 Chinese Export Rippled Edge Serving Piece measuring 11" X 8" In The Celadon Pattern. Quite unusual form that I don't recall having seen in any in any of the other chinese export patterns. Rose Medallion,Rose Mandarin, Blue Canton,1000 Butterfly,Rose Canton, cabbage leaf and a few others that I can not recall at this moment. Actuall this might be a footed fruit bowl as it does resemble a form that I have seen occasionally in rose medallion and rose mandarin. Good Condition with the excerption of rough edges on the rippled edge at the top. No Restoration. There is a china mark on the bottom that usually ages a piece or porcelain to 1890 but that china at the bottom was not done by the maker but probably done by a owner of this piece at one time. The footed bottom measures 6 7/8" X 5". The last two images show the roughness on the rippled edges that I had mentioned earlier. This does not detract from the beauty of this unusual piece.   « Less

Nicely well painted scenes that are varied both in the scenes they depict and the number of figures that they contain. Additionally the bowl is decorated to the inside and on the exterior footrim. This was probably made for the english market with the blue and white decorating as opposed to the bowl that were made for the french market which had all those bright colours.   « Less
