Circa 1850 Chinese Export Rose Medallion Tazza/Compote with knurled edges around the top with alternating figures of people in a garden scene and rose canton panels of birds, flowers roses and greenery. This beautiful and unusual piece also has celadon ground under the painting of these scenes. The rippled edges on the top part are very unusual and not often seen especially with the gilded edges. The diameter is 9 1/4" and the total height is 4 1/8". The base has a nice rose canton band going around at the bottom of this exquisite piece of chinese export rose medallion, celadon and rose canton mixture.   « Less

Circa 1880 Mason's of England 9" Square Plate with side handles. Mason's Transferware was very popular in the 19th Century and their were many patterns made, especially in blue and white. There is a number on the back, 66861 which is probably a identifying number for the pattern. These were sets of china in many different patterns. This one is a Blue and White pattern known as Manchu. This plate is in good condition with no restoration.   « Less

C.1760 Chinese Export Tobacco Leaf Pair of Platters in the "LADY AND WATER LILY Pattern. This pair of platters measure 10" X 7". These platters are in Excellent Condition and has just come out of the owner's estate. He had purchased them and other pieces over 25 years ago. They were purchased from Earl D. Vandekar of Knightsbridge, Inc. This company opened more than 100 years ago in Amsterdam. Their reputation is impeccable and to be able to purchase a item with this provenance is a pleasure and a honor. The family moved the gallery to London in 1916. After being located on Old Brompton Road for more than 40 years, Knightsbridge was added to the name. During this time, the gallery grew and became well known for carrying high quality 18th and 19th Century European and Chinese Export Porcelain. In 1982,Earle Vandekar's son Paul opened the New York branch where the family continues his family tradition. After the death of Earle, Paul has focused its energies on New York-where the current gallery is located.   « Less

Circa 1880 French Limoge Haviland Beautiful Porcelain serving dish. This just came out of a New York Estate. On the back of this piece are the initials of CH, which is Charles Haviland. A very Beautiful piece in Excellent Condition. This mark is rarely seen. This mark in combination with Green CFH (CHARLES FIELD HAVILAND) over G D M (Gerard Dufraisseix and Morel) mark that was used from 1882 to 1890, The CFH cipher in that case was hand painted in dark red, so assumed it was a decorator's mark. This Hand painted scene of early couple sitting in the forest with both with a romantic adoring look with wonderful costume and flowers. This piece is signed in the scene "gragonard". It also has the Haviland mark on the back that with the "C" engulfed in a "H" with the "H" having streamers. Measures 15" X 9 1/2"   « Less

This is a pattern of Mottahedeh that we have not seen before apparently we don't know as much about chinese export porcelain as we thought. It is a reproduction of a Chinese Export Service that was made in the chien lung dynasty C.1750-1760. This platter was part of a complete dinner service that the heirs sold us the platter and a shrimp dish. The 18th century Dinner set is in the Dallas Museum of Art and is a part of THE WENDY & EMORY REEVES COLLECTION. The reproduction was sold out of the Dallas Museum Gift Shop as are many pieces of Mottahedeh Tobacco Leaf we have bought have come out of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art Gift Shop. The dimensions of this wonderfull shaped platter is 16 1/2" X 14 1/2".   « Less
