They honestly do not get much larger or finer than this! Moche, northern Peru, ca 200 to 400 AD. Bi-chrome pottery jar in portrait form (of the same type/accuracy as the portrait stirrup vessels the Moche are famous for). Standing lord in full regalia with wonderfully decorated tunic, necklace, headdress and shawl. Nose pierced for suspension of gold ring, now lost. Sits an impressive 16-1/4"H, is intact/in excellent condition.

A wonderful piece of Moche art, in the form of a stirrup vessel; painted in fine-line technique showing the Moche underworld deity - Ai Apec - on each side of the vessel in the form of a lobster. 8"H, intact/excellent condition, with stabilized stress cracks toward the base of one side not affecting much of the art.

Pre-Columbian, Moche III, northern Peru, ca. 400 AD. Terracotta bowl featuring a young nude female (her lack of breasts indicate a prepubescent female). The body of the female is hollow so that when liquid is placed inside of the bowl, it enters the vagina and fills the hollow body. It can then be poured out of the vagina as a part of ceremony. Likely for birthing and/or fertility. Manganese deposits on surface. Custom museum-quality stand. 5"H x 9-1/2"D, intact/excellent condition. An extremely rare example!
