Circa 1840 Chinese Export Rose Medallion Chamber Stick with the mold for the snuffer to go over but as is the case mostly, the delicate snuffer is missing. Many times the missing rose medallion snuffers were replaced with custom made silver snuffers. Also note on the chamber stick bottom part the beautiful decoration(persian market) and the rare tobacco leaves just above and ending just below of this form and if the original snuffer was present. it would be a complete rarity. All this item need is a "snuffer". The diameter of the base is 5 3/4" in width and the height of this chamberstick is 3 1/2". Good Quality and in Excellent Condition. The addition of the tobacco leaves add to the rarity of this particular candlestick. « Less

Circa 1880 Chinese Export Rose Medallion Large Punch Bowl measuring 14 3/4" in Diameter and 7" in depth. This is the Perfect Large Bowl in Chinese Export's most More »
Circa 1880 Chinese Export Rose Medallion Large Punch Bowl measuring 14 3/4" in Diameter and 7" in depth. This is the Perfect Large Bowl in Chinese Export's most favorite pattern of Rose Medallion. This bowl was made for the Boston Market and the way you can tell that is the black cartouche shown in image #5. Rose Medallion was the most produced chinese export porcelain in the 1800's. It became popular in the 1840's and is still popular today. The black mark meant that it was made for the Boston Market. There were several ports on the east coast that chinese porcelain was exported to in the United States. Boston, Baltimore and Charleston. Boston was the largest port for exported items coming into the United States. It was shipped in large round barrels which would contain a whole set including plates, cups and saucers, bowls and platters of many sizes, and many serving pieces for the dining room table. This rose medallion bowl is in very good condition. No chips, cracks or restoration. Alternating panels of scenes in cartouches (panels) with people in scenes and alternating panels with birds and butterflies with flowers, and other bugs and insects. This decoration appeared on the inside and the outside of the bowl. In the center of the inside of the bowl around a 2" diameter gilded circle was referred to as the medallion. Thus came the term: Rose Medallion. If a family had a large dining room table this bowl would be in the center of the table. If the table was not large enough they would place the centerpiece bowl in the middle of a buffet, sideboard or maybe a hunt board. This bowl is 100% sound. No chips, cracks or restoration with beautiful colors. « Less
