Circa 1870 Two Victorian Brass Mirror or Oval Picture Frames. These vintage frames are in good condition with each having a metal leg to suppot the frame for standing up as I have shown. The small one measures 12' in height and 8 1/4" in diameter at the widest point. On the back top is a impressed mark of A E. The other frame is 15 1/2" in height and 10 3/4" in diameter at the widest point. These frames are perfect for pictures or mirrors. Very well done and are quite charming. I would date them from 1870-1900. Good Condition. « Less

Family of Weems Coat of Arms. This was a Honorable Mention in the "SIXTH ANNUAL NATIONAL ART EXHIBITION" National League of American Pen Women. Washington, D.C.--April 24, 1932. First Honorable Mention. Heraldry. "WEEMS COAT OF ARMS". Artist: Evelyn Weems French. 10 3/4" X 15 1/8" Set into a nice frame measuring 13" X 16 1/2". The Weems Family is one of the oldest families in the State of Maryland, originally settling in Anne Arundel County in the eighteenth century. The family originated in Scotland, being descended from the noble Wemyss line, although there is disagreement among genealogists concerning how the American and Scottish lines are connected. For much more information regarding the history and geneology, just google weems, maryland family. It is very interesting. Also included is a copy (#83) "HISTORY OF THE WEEMS FAMILY",by Douglas Andes Weems. First Limited Edition, which was issued to Miss Cassie Weems. COPYRIGHT 1945 BY P. V. H. Weems.
