Pair of gorgeous antique Art Deco slipper shade sconces, dating from the early 1900s. These sconces are crowned by a ziggurat stair-stepping design, with triangle and scrolling details. Below, the glass shade is inserted into the backplate at a V-shaped opening. The original glass slip shade features vertical ribbed details and wavy horizontal lines. Around each shade, the sconces feature decorative scrolls and foliate details. These wall lamps are in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the edges. The sconces have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces measure 4-5/8” wide, 10-3/4" tall, and project 5-1/2” from the wall. A second pair of matching sconces also available; please contact us for more details. NSP717-RW   « Less

Very Rustic Williamson/Beardslee 4 Light Art Deco Slip Shade Chandelier A 1930's chandelier designed and made by R. Williamson & Co., and marketed in the 1930's by Beardslee, who had bought the Williamson company for their excellent designs. All parts are present, nothing missing. The condition is VERY rustic. Look at the close up picture of the bottom to know what we mean. The shades, however, are in remarkable 90% mint condition. At present, this light has a drop of 27 1/2 inches. It has a diameter of about 17 1/2 inches. The canopy diameter is 5 5/8 inches. Electrical: This chandelier has been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal sockets for everyday medium base bulbs have been installed. Each socket is rated for 100 watts so 400 watts of light is available. All mounting hardware will be supplied so literally, you can hang this light and have it working minutes after receiving it. A great value for a rustic Art Deco 4 light chandelier from the 1930's. This fixture, circa 1930's, was made by a little known company called Puritan, which had an interesting array of shade variations for this type of frame. The most popular one with the public was this nice shade that has the lovely embossed floral spray. The frame is made from cast iron and has a faux bronze finish. The chandelier has been completely re-wired with 5 bakelite sockets and ground wire to conform to UL guidelines. Each socket is capable of accepting a 100 watt bulb. From the Art Deco period, two names for quality and design are well recognized by collectors: Lightolier and Consolidated Glass. With this fixture, we have the best of these two companies. From Lightolier's 1933 catalog we have a lovely example of the "Stylux" model 2641 six shade, but with five sockets, chandelier using some of the best that Consolidated glass made in shades. Right below this model, in the catalog, Lightolier states in BOLD letters: "Quality never disappoints". Lightolier made this model both as a long drop with chain, and a lower drop for close ceiling applications. Here we have the lower ceiling version. It was priced in the 1933 catalog, in the raging depression, at $17.25. In our catalog, that 1933 price is crossed out and $20.25 is written in pencil. And it was the depression! This Lightolier chandelier has been completely UL re-wired with 5 sockets to conform to UL guidelines. Each socket is capable of accepting a 100 watt bulb. It is totally ready to go and will be supplied with all the necessary mounting hardware. Measurements: 18" tall by 17 1/2" wide.
