Striking antique art deco nickel over iron chandelier with original slip shades and a beautifully aged finish, dating from the 1930's. The fixture's canopy and body features unique geometric designs of stylized leaves and flowers, and a repeating V pattern. Below, the chandelier features a decorative teardrop loop finial, holding up the dome-shaped body. The dome is formed by five curved vertical bands of floral and foliate latticework that meets at a circular base with five projecting shade holders and shades. The original slipper shades are a beautiful amber with art deco flowers, leaves and geometric patterns. The underside of the body features a gorgeous radial pattern of the same floral and foliate design. This chandelier has a beautifully aged finish with some rust showing through the nickel, giving great character. The light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the rims. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. This fixture measures 17" wide, 19" tall (body only), and 33-1/4" long overall. Nice original 1930`s French Art Deco chandelier complete with original shades and nickel finished metal frame. Very nice condition with a significant lighting ability. We would call this Streamline Art Deco. This fixture demonstrates an interesting design concept. This is where the center shade is mounted to each of the four arms, treating them like the fitter for this main centered shade. Works and is more unusual than most. Electrical: The fixture has been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Each of the four outside shades has a candelabrum type socket for candelabrum bulbs. The center large shade has a three light cluster that accepts normal medium based bulbs. If you used normal maximum bulbs in each chandelier socket, you could have a total of 540 watts of lighting. This assumes a 60 watt bulb in each candelabrum socket and 3 bulbs of 100 watts in the center shade. Many folks would use less wattage. This fine chandelier has been modified in three ways from the French original. Its sockets were changed from European to American. It was re-wired with UL approved wiring. It now mounts with American style mounting hardware to an American electrical box. All in all, a very nice French Streamline Deco chandelier ready to hang. A large antique Art Deco six light lantern with its original etched glass. Circa 1925, the chandelier was salvaged out of St. Louis, Missouri. This darkened nickel fixture begins with a simple canopy with leaf trim, with a decorative loop finial crowning the chandelier body. The chandelier body features six panels of textured glass etched with an abstract Art Deco design, surrounded by scrolls and leaf detail. The top of each panel features addorsed C shapes, each flanking a circle of frosted glass in a nickel border. The chandelier finishes in volutes with a foliate finial at the center. This light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the edges; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. Reddish bronze finish while the fixture itself was created by a mixture of metals all blended by the finish. Very nice indeed. The amber embossed shades are really quite nice as the detailed pictures show. Each of the five sockets is capable of accepting a 100 watt incandescent light bulb or order our LED bulbs for the complete solution. A fabulous pair of antique Art Deco sconces with glass shades and nickel plated backplates, dating from the 1930’s. These sconces each feature a round nickel plated backplate, with a streamlined glass shade with ziggurat sides. They are fabulous for use over a bathroom mirror. These wall lamps are very good antique condition with a nicely aged finish. The shades have a few fleabites and chips, with one large chip on the inside rim of one shade as shown (very hard to see unless the shade is removed from the fixture). One of the scarce lights of the deco era from Mid West MFG. This is the 5 light Soleure chandelier. Mid West only made the best quality lighting. This chandelier is solid bronze with a great original finish. The castings are so beautiful, as well, with lots of pierced parts which are...were... so hard to do as any casting man will tell you. The finish does have some minor flakes and thinning but it also has a nice mellow appearance and most vintage lighting aficionados would not touch this lovely...aged... finish. This light has been totally re-wired as well with five new sockets and a new main stem wire. The drop of this light now is 30 inches and it has a diameter of about 20 inches..... shade tip to shade tip. The ceiling canopy measures about 7 inches in diameter. The five shades are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and they all match each other very well. Price: $1,650 plus shipping   « Less
