Circa 1840 Chinese Export Sacred Bird and Butterfly Large Pot that is 4 3/4" in height and 5" in diameter at the top opening. Brush Pots used for brushes and combs might have been what this was originally made for,BUT The idea of using this as a planter is better in today's world especially for a sacred bird and butterfly collector. This is the best in sacred bird and butterfly that you will see. Plenty of birds and butterflies in this well decorated piece. Just a great find. Ladies in Texas, this is for you. I have searched high and low for sacred bird and butterfly in the past ten years but is is hard to find. Over ten years ago I purchased a 200 piece set in this pattern and thru it and my web site I met many new great customers. I will not call any of you as you will have to find it on your own while my wife enjoys it in our sun room. It is perfect with no restoration and maybe one of the best quality in decoration that I have had. Many years ago a ladi in the Washington, D.C. Area had a whole set of sacred bird and butterfly and donated it to a museum in Charleston, S.C. It becae so popular that Mottahedeh duplicated this pattern and sells it thru the gift shop of that museun in Charleston. Circa 1820-1840 Chinese Export Celadon Cache Pot that is absolutely beautiful with the celadon light colors mixed with the combination of colorful pink,turquoise, and green flowers,tulips,greenery, and white storks. This is a nice size that is very hard to find. Measures 6" in height and the top opening is 9" in diameter. The hole in the bottom is for water to drain into a underplate that is not available. But a colorful chinese export celadon or cabbage leaf plate would provide the perfect underplate. Good Condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.   « Less

Circa 1830 Tucker & Hemphill of Philadelphia Transfer cup and saucer with a romantic couple on one side. This deep saucer is 5" in diameter and 1" in depth. Good Condition with a tiny chip on the base of the cup that is not noticeable until you turn the saucer over. Nice gilding on the top rim of the cup and also the rim of the saucer. No wear on the transfer romantic scene. For years I have done shows in Philadelphia and have had many customers ask about Tucker Porcelain. Circa 1770 18th. Century Chinese Export Armorial Crest Tea Bowl measuring 3" in diameter and 1 5/8" in height and depth. Overall Good Condition w/ a few tiny flea bites and some but very little wear. Practically no wear to the armorial crest that bconsists of a shield in rust color with famille rose painted around the shield with a goat or a deer with antlers in the central top part of the cartouche. On the opposite side is a floral spray of a flower with leaves. That also appears on the inside top of the bowl. Good Condition with only minor wear. No Restoration.   « Less

Circa 1770 Chinese Export Mandarin Palette 9" Dinner Plate. This is the very first tableware plate that I have had or seen in this very popular pattern in mandarin that was made for the European Market. Mandarin Palette was never made for the american market. It was strictly made for the European market,France and England. As my picker in England says "rare as rockinghorse dung". It is 9" in diameter, waved edge, full of mandarin palette but a bit worn. The seller at the market in the countryside in UK says he thought it had been restored but it took quite a while to see exactly where. The clue of the restoration lies in the edge pattern in one place. The restorer forgot to add in the gold to match. Also looking at the back and the rim foot, you have a slightly difference colours in parts which would indicate a break. If my restorer were to spruce all that up you can Double the retail price. A Great find especially to one of those many collectors that I have sold bowl,platters, vases and other objects in this and my favorite chinese export pattern.   « Less
