There were only 3 sets made of these plates in 1973. Measures 8 3/4inches accross. This plate depicts 3 woman in a pre-cubistic style that heralded one of the most influential movements in art of modern times. Plate has all the information about the original painting written on the back, is dated 1973 and signed H117. Condition is MINT with no scratches/cracks/chips of any sort. The series was abandoned when the rights to continue by the artist''s heirs was denied. There were 6 plates in the series - this is one of 5 from a private collection. Enquire about the others. A Pickard hand painted, vase, early 20th century, Chicago. Signed by artist Eva Maley 1910-1912, 1912-18.Measures 7 1/4inches high.Cylindrical shape on a round foot. Two long gilded handles and gilded rim.Beautiful handpainted tropical waterscape with tall Palm trees above the water and a full moon behind the clouds. Soft greys, blues and greens. The vase is in excellent condition except for minor gilt wear on the rim and a superficial 1/2inch line on the back - visible only if you are really looking for it. Artist signed beneath the right handle Eva Maley, who did some sub-contracting work for Pickard and this scene is considered rare for her. A Pickard handpainted plate, made very early in the 20th century, Chicago USA. Artist signed Marker.Measures 8.5inches in diameter.The gold rimmed round plate with a deep well in the middle is handpainted with a tropical waterscape scene of Palm trees over the water in the moonlight. Beautiful soft grey blue and green tones with just a touch of red in the foreground as a contrast.Artist signed, Marker on lower right.The back has the PICKARD logo - handpainted Pickard China and is done on a Thomas Bavaria blank.The painting is in mint condition as is the gilding. The rim at the back is a little rough, but that is totally hidden and mentioned only for the sake of accuracy. Superbly enamelled 6 pairs of cups and saucers, made by Crown Ducal, England, early 20th century.Saucer is 5 7/8inch in diam. Cup is 2 1/4inches high and 3 3/4inches in diam on the top. Magnificent hand enamelled tulip & freesia decoration on a pale yellow ground. Borders are in mustard yellow, blue and red. Mustard yellow enamelling is used on the rims of all pieces.Each piece is marked CROWN DUCAL WARE ENGLAND (not Made in England) and has various marks, presumably of the enameller, painter and modeller.Very good condition. One cup has a fleabite chip on the rim - easilly restored..Part of a dinner and tea service that we have divided into seperate groups because of disparate numbers eg teapot, sugar, creamer, plates, servers, extras. Made by Hammersley.Measures 10 1/2inches long. 4inches to top of handle.Rectangular shape with rounded corners. Sides with compartments containing a sugar bowl and creamer respectively. Surface has basketweave mould and is richly decorated with strawberries, blossoms and leaves. All edges are richly gilded.Marked underneath each piece with Hammersley Bone China, and handwritten L1256.Condition is very good. No damage of any sort. Royal Crown Derby part tea set, part printed, part hand painted. England 1942. 6 cups, 6 saucers, milk jug/pitcher and sugar bowl. Saucers are 5 1/8inch diam; Milk jug a litt over 3inches high. Each shaped piece is printed and painted with flowers in pinks, shades of blue and purple, yellows and green. Green scrolling border around each piece. White ground, gilt-line borders. Top quality porcelain and workmanship a good example of Derby at its best. Each piece is marked with Royal Crown Derby mark, Made in England and various red, handpainted numbers and letters. Date letter V stands for 1942. Excellent condition. No chips/cracks to be found, paint is fresh and pretty and gilding not worn. 19th century miniature porcelain scent / perfume bottle in the form of a clown. Probably made in Germany. Measues 2 3/4inches high. The little person stands in a bulky blue clown suit. Ruffles at the neck and big black buttons over the belly. Little black shoes point out from under the frilly trousers. Around the neck is a white frilly collar and there is a blue cap on the head, from under which a few black curls escape. Beautiful facial features, bow lips and rosy cheeks hint that this may be a woman and not a man. Great condition: no chips/cracks or damage of any sort.
