A Royal Vienna handpainted mug. Austria, 19th century.Measures 3 3/8 inches high.The mug is divided into 2 wide and two narrower panels, seperated by gold scrolling patterns and stencil work. The panel on which the handle is attached and the one opposite it have an orange backgrounds on which bright summer flowers are painted. The alternating panels are handpainted with cherubs in woodland scenes. Gilded handle. Underneath the mug has a blue underglaze beehive mark. Condition is good with acceptable wear to the gilding on the rims and handle, but no damage/chips/cracks or loss of paint. Rare miniature figurine of porcelain chickens, cock and hen with a naughty humorous theme. Made by the Meissen factory, Germany, 19th century. 1 1/2inches high. 3inches front to back. The male chicken has jumped onto the little hen. Fine bright detail to his huge dark green plumed tail, redand black tipped wings and both orange faces. Naturalistic modelling and the top quality workmanship and porcelain of Meissen. Blue crossed swords, impressed 23 and H1. Excellent condition - no damage of any sort. Meissen scalloped bowl. 19th century, German. 5 1/8inches accross at widest point. Nearly 2inches high. 5 deep lobes, bordered by rich gilt scrolling pattern. The inside of the bowl is painted with a marvellous scene of a mother, her son and their dog in a rich parkland or garden. Pillars with pot plants indicate that this is quite a formal garden, as do the tall, elegant trees in the background. The mother is very richly dressed in aristocratic attire of the 18th century. A puce silk skirt, rich red silk sleeves and bodice emerge from under a deep blue velvet jacket and complex curled hairdo under a feathered cap. The blond-curled little boy points to something in the distance, while the little dog prances off in that direction. Crossed swords under the glaze. Small sugar bowl made by Meissen, Germany. It is a remake of one made by Meissen in 1740 with a peach finial. Measurements: 2 1/4'' diameter; 3'' high. Very pretty little lidded pot. 3 sprigs of multi-coloured flowers adorn the little pot. A beautiful blue Morning Glory is painted on the lid. The details of the painting are excellent. The lid has a wonderful finial made of a moulded and applied rose bud with vine leaves and tendrils. Both pot & lid have gilded borders. Marks: blue underglaze crossed swords. There is a dot below the hilts of the swords, indicating 1951-1953. Various painted and impressed numbers (for painters and models). Condition:fabulous condition - no damage to porcelain, paint or gilding. Please see my other wonderful Meissen pieces. Demitasse miniature cup and saucer decorated with pink and red roses. Has Royal Vienna mark and dates to late 19th - early 20th century.Saucer is 4inches in diameter. Cup is 1 3/4inches high.Very narrow waisted elegant cup with round bowl and scrolling handle. Both cup and saucer have fine stencilled silver decoration surrounded by rings of pink and red roses.Marked underneath with blue Royal Vienna beehive mark.Condition is very good. There is a spiderweb age crack (surface only) under the saucer that in no way detracts from the pretty set. Unusual Amphora figure of a nude with seahorses and holding a basket shaped as strange birds and pelicans. Made in Chechoslovakia 1918-1939. Measures 8 1/2inches high. A slim young lady with long, flowing hair stands on a round base, modelled with typical Amphora impressed and inset beads. Around the base are 3 strange seahorses, wonderfully modelled in exotic forms and very graceful. The girl holds a basket on one shoulder. It is made in the form of a ring of pelicans. Very exciting forms of these animals echo the folds of the seahorses and contrast with the smooth skin of the girl. Underneath is a blue underglaze oval with Made in Czechoslovakia around the word Amphora, the mark used 1918-1939. Impressed numbers 20192 and 26. Condition is excellent. 19th Century bowls made in Limoges, France. Made to immitate Meissen. Measurements:5 3/4'' diam; 1 3/4'' high. Bowls handpainted in enamel depict Chinese figures, flowers and insects, very much in the style made famous by Meissen in the 18th century. Gilded rims. Marks: Limoges mark:La Seynie; Limoges; *A-F*; France. Also crossed swords in the Meissen style, but red and handpainted over the glaze. Both bowls have also had the words ''Made in France'' added in enamel handwriting, possibly at a much later date. Condition:very good. No chips/cracks of any sort. Antique Derby figural group of an amorous couple in Renaissance attire with applied flowers. Circa 1782-1820.Measures 9 1/2inches high.Pierced, openwork base, roughly oval in shape, with scrolls and foliage highlighted in gold on the sides. The top is naturalistically moulded in the shape of a grassy bower with wild flowers and more picked flowers in a basket. The gentleman''s shield with incredible relief mask in very rich gilding rests behind the lady''s seat. The young woman seems to be pushing aside the over-attentive youth. Both are incredibly beatifully dressed in richest fabrics - all handpainted in marvellous colours and designs. The gentleman''s suit is in gold scales offset by blue and royal red. Superb modelling, colour and detail. Behind them is a bower with attached flowers. Highest quality.Mark under base used between 1782 and 1820. General condition is excellent for a piece of this age, with only a few tiny chips/losses of applied foliage or flowers.
