Antique Crown Milano glass and silver plate biscuit barrel or cracker jar made by the Mount Washington factory circa 1880 - 90''s in New Bedford, Mass. 6 3/4 inches high, More »
Antique Crown Milano glass and silver plate biscuit barrel or cracker jar made by the Mount Washington factory circa 1880 - 90''s in New Bedford, Mass. 6 3/4 inches high, excluding the lid. Approx 8 inches to the top of the finial. Barrel shaped. Glass is typical Burmese with shades of yellow on the bottom half, pinks and salmons on the upper half. The combination of colours is particularly pleasing in this example. It is further hand decorated with beautifully outlined oak leaves and acorns on delicate, curving twiggs. Metallic colours in gorgeous tones of silver, gold and bronze. Beautiful raised detail. The silver plated neck and matching lid both have a ring of flowers alternating with s-curves. A wide variety of flowers, as can partly be seen in the ''photos in fine detail. Sturdy handle. This exact model, with identical neck, lid and handle, is shown more than once in the book on Mt. Washington glass by B Sisk. There is no factory mark visible, but there is no doubt about the origin of this magnificent piece. Very good condition. Exceptional antique glass vase in the form of a sea shell. Made by Loetz in Bohemia / Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) 19th century. Measures 11 1/4 inches tall. Sea More »
Exceptional antique glass vase in the form of a sea shell. Made by Loetz in Bohemia / Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) 19th century. Measures 11 1/4 inches tall. Sea shell theme. The vase is a pointed sea shell standing upside down, enclosed in an iridescent clear glass trio of swirling, fluted seaweed that tapers down to the base, in the same iridescent, clear glass that echoes the organic sea creature theme. The main shell is composed of incredibly-coloured and textured glass: depending on the light, the background is in shades of pinks and oranges with raised organic looking ''scales'' in iridescent silvers and golds. All colours deepen, become more metallic looking and shade to blues, depending on the light and angle. The shape is quite luscious - a bowl on top seemingly torn open and curling backwards to show the inside / reverse of the glass. Moulded with bends and twists - all generously rounded. No signature seen. Very good condition with some roughage on the edges of the base, commensurate with the age. Status: For Sale Reference#: 4022 Condition: good Year: 1890 Title: ANTIQUE LOETZ BOHEMIAN GLASS SHELL VASE IRIDESCENT « Less

Antique Bohemian engraved, cased, glass vase. Made in Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic), about 100 years ago. Measures 9 1/8 inches high. Diameter on top is 6 1/4 More »
Antique Bohemian engraved, cased, glass vase. Made in Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic), about 100 years ago. Measures 9 1/8 inches high. Diameter on top is 6 1/4 inches. Stands on very solid round base, narrows to form a small neck and then gently flares out with outwards folded upper rim. Cased glass is red over clear. Beautifully engraved with a large, floral pattern of anemonies, both in full flower and in bud, surrounded by foliage. RIngs of bubbles have been cut, beneath the flowers, on the base and half-globes on the rim. The pattern goes all the way around the vase and is more vibrant and bold than those normally found on Bohemian glass vases. It is also much more naturalistically done, with a lovely, soft artistic flair. Great botanical detail. Good condition. Antique pair of opaline glass bowls, each hand painted with a scene of little animals hunting innocents. Possibly French or English and date to 19th century - about 1880 - More »
Antique pair of opaline glass bowls, each hand painted with a scene of little animals hunting innocents. Possibly French or English and date to 19th century - about 1880 - 1900. Each bowl is 8 inches in diameter and 2 1/2 inches high. Bowls each stand on 3 round, gilded feet. The borders are gilded and have a band of superb lilac, which looks very French. Another gold circle encloses the lilac band. Within the bowl is an exquisitely handpainted vignette of animals. In one scene a very naughty looking dog ( Dachshund by the looks of him), is about to pounce on a gaggle of ducklings, who flee to the water, beautifully painted in deep blue in the foreground. Flowers and foliage surround the animals. In the other painting, a sly fox peeps through the long hay in front of which a group of bunnies is nibbling on large leaves in a little clearing. One rabbit with a stalk in his mouth seems to have just caught sight of the fox. Details of both paintings are superb - clearly painted by a masterful artist. They are the height of Victorian cute combined with love of moral tales and very likely these paintings are depictions of a fable or moral story. The bowls are in very good condition. Both paint and gilding look great. One bowl has a fleabight on the rim - so small I couldn''t begin to measure it. No other chips/cracks/damage/restoration of any sort. Antique, Victorian art glass bowl / vase with applied fruit and flowers. Made in England by Stevens and Williams circa 1880''s. Measurements: almost 8 1/2 inches high; 11 More »
Antique, Victorian art glass bowl / vase with applied fruit and flowers. Made in England by Stevens and Williams circa 1880''s. Measurements: almost 8 1/2 inches high; 11 inches accross the front and 4 inches front to back. Narrow oval opaline glass forms the main body / bowl. Wonderful pearl quality with fine striations / variations which we attempted to show in the ''photos. Stands on 4 golden glass legs in a free, organic form that flows on either side into the handles and is echoed on the top rim by the ruffled border in the same glass, crimped in a tightly folded pattern. The front has applied glass fruit, flowers, stems and foliage. 3 applied strawberries in textured glass orange and red - look ready to be plucked and eaten. Strawberry blossoms are realistically modelled with great detail, as are the leaves with the fine central and striated veins wonderfully depicted. Polished pontil underneath. Very good condition considering the age and delicate nature of the glass. T is a line in the amethyst stem above the strawberry on the left hand side, which might be original to the manufacture. T are two green sepals broken off the strawberries - one from each of the left hand berries. No other damage/ restorations of any sort found.
