Gold Finished Pair of Globe Slip Shade Art Deco Sconces Cast iron, painted polychrome gold sconces made by Globe in the 1930s. Globe is a unique company, and not as common as Lincoln or Markel, but they did some very exciting things. Their brand name was Electrolier, and while some folks assume that there was a company named Electrolier, it was simply a brand that Globe marketed and impressed into many of their castings. The shades are in wonderful condition, without any chips or cracks other than a tiny bit of roughness where they go into the frame. 85% of the gold polychrome finish is just about mint. Measurements: ** Height: 10 ½" ** Width: 6 ½" ** Projection: 5 ½" from the wall into the room. These sconces have been re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and lead wire. Art Deco Copper-Finished French Chandelier Really quite lovely. Here we have a fine French chandelier by Ezan that just demonstrates the variations of the Art Deco design in one lovely fixture. Circa 1920-30, it is truly a lovely chandelier. The shades are really quite unique. Heavy cast glass, with heavy embossed rib designs. Add to those lovely shades the lovely drips of glass down the body of the chandelier, and you can see the design excellence we can see from Ezan. The design of the arms is absolutely beautiful, and hard to find. Measurements: ** Height: 22 " overall. ** Diameter: 33" This chandelier has been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new American sockets, and all new wire. The five shades around the center are wired with American candelabrum sockets built inside the original French/British style B-22 pin socket housing. Kind of clever, so we can use the original shades without any noticeable difference at all. We used a neat bulb that does not rise above the shade, and they come with the chandelier. Price for the chandelier is only $1,925.00 plus careful packing and shipping. I say "only" because if you have done some chandelier shopping elsewhere, you will know that some folks are asking upwards of $3,000.00 for a fixture of this type, and often, not as nice as this one. Lincoln called the group that this chandelier came from: Two in One. They were quite proud that they found a way to use a shade either upwards...or downwards without any changes. And...yes...these shades can be turned upside down too. Lincoln's catalog described this series as such: "The shades on these fixtures can be used either up or down. Antique Australian Art Deco Slip Shade 5 Light Chandelier with Aborigine Design Not often realized by collectors or dealers, but Markel and others had manufacturing plants in America, Canada, and Australia. Bowing to local culture, a native design slip shade fixture was created that has some really fine native Australian motifs. We particularly like the bird track canopy, as well as the chevron devices on the ceiling bowl. The old gold paint is original...and like anything 90 years original...it does have some wear that is quite obvious on the bottom of the bowl. We prefer NOT to touch an antique that has that lineage, but the new owner can make their choice about restoration, or not. Just a lovely, aboriginal motif chandelier destined for that market. Streamline Art Deco Slip Shade Chandelier by Halcolite Halcolite was one of a select few slip shade light makers who made some high-end quality products. Halcolite was in Brooklyn, New York at 68 34th Street from their catalog "T" for the year 1937 - 1938. They used Consolidated glass products and designs quite a bit to give their glassware a lovely accent. This is a 6 shade chandelier with fancy stem which was top-of-the-line for this style of Streamline chandelier. Instead of the main bowl being cast like so many others, it is formed from sheet metal by deep drawing, and then working by hand. It does give it a more "engine feel" that is so common for the Streamline movement. The shades are light amber (that Halcolite called golden-toned) and in good...remarkable...condition. American Pair of Art Deco Sconces Circa 1920 - 1930. These sconces are cast iron with a pewter finish. The amber shades are in very good condition, and match with striated lines and scrolls on both the backplate and shade. Antique Restored Red-Bronzed Art Deco Slip Shade Iron Wall Sconces True high-end quality original cast iron antique frames with a reddish bronze finish. The frame is showing a contrasting color variation due to its age, but it does reflect the total age and care of this antique. Circa 1930. These Art Deco Slip Shade sconces were difficult to cast since they have reticulated backplates. A casting man will tell you how problematic it is to pull a mold with contours like these. The bronze finish is very nice indeed. These fixtures are in such nice condition. The hard-to-find shades, too, are simply in fantastic condition, with old amber finish and a pleasing embossed design. Typically, the frame is made from cast iron and has a dark pewter finish. The shades are in outstanding condition with only the slightest roughness around the fitters...not seen after mounting. They are dark amber in color. Measurements: * Height: 19" * Diameter: 18" The height can be shortened a little if you want to install this chandelier on a lower ceiling. Note also that we are supplying the bracket (crossbar) for this light, so literally, you can hang this light and have it working minutes after receiving it.
