Bright, canary yellow fine porcelain with all around pattern of overlaid sterling silver. Made in Germany, in Baden-Wurttemberg, in the town of Pluderhausen. Measures a little over 3 inches high. Beautifully elegant baluster shape, narrow on the bottom and widening towards the shoulders. The neck and bottom are entirely encircled by silver. The wonderful bright yellow ground, rarest of all colours in porcelain, has a floral and foliate silver decoration overlaid on most of the surface. It winds and curves with the fullness and curves of the vase and is repeated both front and back. Just below the neck, also in silver overlay is the silver standard which is an amazing 1000/1000 - absolutely pure silver, which is very rarely found. The factory mark is underneath. It looks like a black triangle with M over P seperated by a large S. Around this is written:SILBERPORZELLAN MANUFAKTUR VETHL PLUDERHAUSER. There are also various numerals within the black triangle and handwritten A6/8-79 in iron red underglaze. Condition is very good. We have not cleaned the vase/silver, but it is all in good condition, with no chips/cracks/damage of any sort. Status: For Sale Reference#: 3328 Condition: good Year: 1930 Title: VINTAGE CANARY YELLOW PORCELAIN VASE W SILVER OVERLAY « Less

Artist signed Art Pottery, Art Deco handpainted ceramic tile set in wood bookends. Made by Jean Nison early 20th century. Total height is approx 7inches and width is approx 5 1/4 inches. Tiles are 6X4 1/4inches. A pair of turquoise tiles, each handpainted with an animal - one a leopard and one a bull. Classic Art Deco design, with two strong animals shown with great elegance and movement, almost mythical qualities. Both are reminiscent of Ancient Chinese art work, both in fluidity of design, sense of movement and the ability to convey real more than immediately meets the eye. Powerful contrast of the bright yellow against the blue/turquoise. Subtle hues and shading of the animals. Each tiles is signed by the artist, renowned ceramicist, Jean Nison. Condition is good. No chips/cracks/damage. There is typical crazing, which one would expect, but no damage/restorations. Antique Cup and saucer with signed handpainted scene of Napoleon and his army after the painting by Ernest Meissonier (1815 - 1891), The Campagne de France, 1814. Artist More »
Antique Cup and saucer with signed handpainted scene of Napoleon and his army after the painting by Ernest Meissonier (1815 - 1891), The Campagne de France, 1814. Artist signature J Missant. Believed to be done in the studio of A LAMM, Dresden , one of the greatest porcelain houses in Europe during the 19th century. Saucer measures a little under 5 3/4 inches in diameter and curls up to a height of 3/4inch; cup is just under 2 inches high. Deep green ground, decorated in heavy gilding with foliage, shells and raised jewels. The cup has a large, rectangular reserve opposite the handle. It is surrounded by a gold border with raised gilded ''jewels''. Within the reserve is a handpainted scene, taken from the very famous painting by Ernest Meissonier, depicting Napoleon and his army, on horseback. It is artist signed on the lower right, J Missant. Both cup and saucer are marked underneath with two marks: a pair of blue crossed arrows and a dark rose. The latter mark was used by A Lamm, Dresden, who were famous for their superior and beautiful decorating (painting and gilding), on porcelain, often done on blanks from other factories. They also used a mark similar to the Meissen crossed swords at one time. Condition: both cup and saucer are in very good condition, with no damage of any sort and no restorations. A knowledgeable person wrote me:cup was amde by Boudois & Bloch painting studio, Paris around 1890 - 1900. Identification are the 2 arrows. Lamm had a lamb with Dresden as his mark. One more note: Germans do not portrait Napoleon, since we we were in war with him for years. It is a french piece of art. Many thanks. Pair of Coalport moulded and handpainted dessert plates circa 1825, England. Each plate measures approx 9 1/4inch. Scalloped rims with beige borders moulded with raised gold and white floral and scrolling patterns interspersed with handpainted spriggs of flowers. The centers of each plate are handpainted with flowers and fruit - one has a peach and one a pear, both have roses, anemones, chrysanthemums etc , all masterfully depicted. One has an impressed mark (6 or 9) underneath. Condition is good, especially considering the age. There is crazing, more visible under the peach plate with superficial cracks in the glaze (see last ''photo). We only found these on the back of the peach plate.
