Very fine vintage porcelain sculpted bust / figurine of a young Victorian woman. Made by the Cordey China Company, NJ, USA, first half of the 20th century. Measures 6 inches high. Beautiful young girl with elongated neck and face, dressed in a simple VIctorian garment in shades of blue and white with lots of applied roses to her dress and hair. Ruffled collar, Rococco scrolls. Beautiful features - pale blue eyes, peachy cheeks and handpainted light hair, rosebud mouth. Marked underneath with number 5003 and 23. Very good condition. Usually, the delicacy of these figures makes them prone to chipping, but we found no losses to this beauty. Good Cordey busts are increasingly difficult to find. Antique Satsume pottery bowl / dish hand painted, gilded and enamelled. Made in Japan - 19th century. Measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 3/8 inches high. Exquisitely More »
Antique Satsume pottery bowl / dish hand painted, gilded and enamelled. Made in Japan - 19th century. Measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 3/8 inches high. Exquisitely decorated shallow round bowl. The rim is red and gold and the inner border is a circle of golden clouds with raised gold borders. Within is a vignette of a Master / Sage / Holy man, dressed in a magnificent kimono, holding a long cane in one hand and pointing a finger in a gesture of command. He wears traditional old boots, his garments are richly decorated with raised enamelling and gilding in beautiful patterns of flowers, clouds and scrolls and the detail is exquisite: from the finger nail protector cap to the tiny hairs growing out of his ears. A halo like circle surrounds the figure''s head, again with raised gold elegant clouds. Next to the tall figure is a little boy, legs wide apart as though ready to run or duck, bending to the side and holding out a golden cage, which presumably held ciccada''s or a small bird. His clothes are no less wonderfully depicted than those of the older gentleman, but the colours are brighter, especially the red jacket. He wears a floppy gold cap on his head. His face is absolutely marvellous with beautiful features and expression. There is no mark that we can find on the plate - front or back. Condition is very good, especially considering the age of the bowl. There is crazing, typical of pottery of this age. There are a few tiny spots where raised gold seems to have come off (see ''photos - greatly enlarged) and there is a small chip on the rim at the bottom on the back. Status: For Sale Reference#: 3693 Condition: good Year: 1890 Title: ANTIQUE JAPANESE SATSUMA BOWL MASTER & BOY W CRICKETS « Less

Antique vase made in Teplitz by the RSTK Amphora company, last decade of the 19th century. Measures 5 1/2 inches high. Wide bulbous body with slender neck flaring out at the rim. Ground is an earthy tone with pink/red/orange and shades of blue glaze. The front has a handpainted portrait of an Art Nouveau woman ''s head in profile - hair whiplashing about in typical Art Nouveau style. She is surrounded by a continuous frieze of flowers - small white blossoms, large anemones and frilly foliage. Dark cobalt blue glaze in contrast to the rich white enamelling and generous gold highlights and outlines. Gilding so thick that it takes the form of ''jewels'' in many places. Beautiful, fine detail to flowers. Marked underneath with impressed 12 and 430. A burnt-red factory mark is partly worn, but legible enough to be clearly identified as the first mark used by the RSTK factory between 1893 and 1903. Very good condition. No chips/cracks/restoration. The identical vase can be seen in the book on Amphora by Richard L Scott (page 84): Model 1894-5, #476. Painting probably Nikolaus Kannhauser. Ivory porcelain. Celadon glaze. Woman''s head with daisies and poppies. .... Status: For Sale Reference#: 3447 Condition: good Year: 1895 Title: RSTK TEPLITZ AMPHORA VASE W MAIDEN HEAD ENAMEL GILDING « Less
