Superb antique bronze sculpture depicting a muse blowing pipes summoning the Gods. The left side of her robe is slightly off her shoulder exposing her breast. She is beautiful and is in beautiful condition. This is the deluxe model, the largest one Marioton created of this subject. It has a large floral high relief sculptured wreath adorning the base. It is inscribed Eug. Marioton. Eugene Marioton sculptured some of the finest French bronzes made in the 19th century. This example is one of his finest works. He has auction records for bronzes of the same size running as high as $23,500.00 for a 32.1 inch bronze titled La danse sculpture that was sold May 2, 2001 at Christie's New York. Beautiful antique bronze sculpture by Francois Hippolyte Moreau. Moreau was born in Dijon, France in 1832. He studied with the best experts in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon in 1863 and won a medal in 1877. He also won a medal at the Exposition Universal in 1900. He specialized in genre figures such as Springtime. Most of Moreau's sculptures are on the larger side, this one being no exception. She measures 21-1/2 inches tall and is 7 inches wide at her widest point. The base has a diameter of 6-1/4 inches. The bottom of the base has a special attachment allowing it to be set on a pivot and turned to view every angle. Bases like this were usually reserved for exhibition pieces. This item may have very well been exhibited at a Paris Salon at one time. This bronze sculpture captures a very life like image of the subject. The quality and detail are far superior to most French sculptures of this period. Even her teeth can be seen as separately sculptured and detailed. Most bronzes have the mouth closed. The model we are offering is a beautiful young lady with a flowing robe slightly dropping off her left shoulder exposing her breast. She leans back against a tree trunk as she greets the morning sun. Someone cleaned this bronze at one time and removed the patina. Other than the rubbing to the patina the bronze is in very good condition. If left alone it will tone down in time. Rare and very beautiful antique bronze pedestal bust of a lady warrior. Her face and hair are beautifully carved. The rest of the composition is gilt bronze. She is wearing a Pegasus flying horse bronze helmet. She is also wearing armor. E. Bernoud is a well listed French sculptor who is known for the best quality, mixed composition, carvings and bronze sculptures. We have bought and sold many pieces over the years by this artist. He was a French sculptor who worked in the late 19th and very early 20th centuries. The example we are offering is in superb condition. The detail of the carving and the high quality of the bronze sculpture are exceptional even for this well known and listed French artist. This one depicts Diana looking up with her bow in hand. This is a magnificent 19th century sculpture depicting an exquisite version of nude Diana the Huntress with her crescent moon and bow. Beautiful antique nude running Diana antique bronze sculpture inscribed A.Falguiere on the base. Jean Alexandre Joseph Falguiere 1831-1900 created magnificent bronze sculptures in the 19th century and is considered one of the finest French sculptors of his day. This model depicts a nude running example of Diana in chase of her prey. She is a two toned bronze, the base being a dark to medium chocolate color, her body a golden honey color bronze. Some light rubbing to the bronze commensurate with age and handling. Other than that she is in mint condiiton mounted on a beautiful variegated marble base. This is another exquiste example of Diana sculptured by A. Falguiere considered to be the 19th century master sculptor of Diana bronzes. The bronze measures 18 inches high. From her left hand holding the bow to the tip of her left foot she measures 16 inches. Diameter of the base 5-3/4 inches. Exquisite complicated and very well detailed 3 figure antique bronze sculpture depicting a seated smiling satyr, a beautiful nude lady playing castanets. The satyr is pushing back a baby Bacchus trying to get his attention. This is a wonderful composition and a very interesting and rare depiction of a happy satyr a baby Bacchus, and a beautiful nude nymph playing castanets entertaining the satyr. Jeff Lambeaux was a Belgian sculptor (1852-1908) who worked in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This may be a unique composition we have never seen another like it. It is inscribed J. Lambeaux. Height 21-3/8 inches. From the dancing nymphs hand to the tip of her toe she measures 22 inches. Widest width at base 14 inches. Weight 54 lbs. Exquisite antique bronze nude lady dancer signed Charpentier. She is wearing only a sash draped over one shoulder and an arm band with bells. She holds a little flower in her hand as she dances. Her right foot stands on sheets of music, a jester head, and a tambourine. Inscribed on the side is Felix Charpentier and E. Colin & Cie Paris. The bronze measures 26-3/4 inches high. From finger tip to finger tip she measures 14-1/4 inches. The base she stands on measures 6 inches high. Widest width at base 8-1/2 inches including the jester head an foliage on the base. Weight 32 lbs. This sculpture was created in 3 sizes, one monumental, one large and one smaller size. This is the middle size next to the very largest monumental one. The Goldschedier foundry produced some of the finest French and Austrian bronzes made in the 19th and early 20th centuries. This one is really special because the gilt bronze foundry seal plaque is inset on the underside of the marble base. The bronze is in excellent condition depicting an exquisite nude lady with her hair up admiring herself in her handheld mirror. Philippe is considered one of the finest French sculptors.
