This is a stunningly beautiful watercolor on silk painted by Helen Larsen. The color are outstanding and each face is punctuated with a silver border. Water color is one of the most difficult mediums of art. Being done on silk is a miracle. Helen says the liquid colors flow and glide through the silk with an artist s touch and focus . Our artist is a retired college art teacher and a member of the Watercolor Artist Society of Sonoma County. The artist lived in Hawaii for years and has an excellent memory for the warmth of both the native population and the climate. This is represented in her work. The two bookplates features four Victorian women dressed for a costume party. They are trimmed in French silk lingerie ribbon. The mat is covered with a rich gold brocade vintage fabric accented by a green ribbon and silk pale pink lingerie roses. The frame is vintage gold wood from the same period. This is a beautiful piece, so pretty that I have kept it all these years which flies in the face of my motto of giving your very best merchandise to your clients first.
