Lovely antique flush mount light made and signed by Moe-Bridges in the 1920s. Found in a home in Nashville, TN, this flush mount features its original cream-colored polychrome finish with blue highlights. The fixture has a canopy edged with shells and volutes; below it are borders of roping and egg and dart details. A lower band features foliate polychrome details that point down towards the simple fitter and original glass shade. This glass shade features bands of blue and gold, with an abstract design of shapes and leaves repeated across the body. The flush mount finishes in a fabulous tassel finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition with a few stress cracks to the fitter that are not visible; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all necessary attachments for modern installation. There is strong evidence to say that this fine heavy cast/pressed shade was made by Consolidated Glass Mnf Co of America. The company Frankelite, who made a few slip shade fixtures during the 1930’s, made this ceiling bowl to match their Fenwick Series. The pattern matches the Fenwick Series as well as the color. A very nice quality offering, and there is only one available. This ceiling bowl has been totally re-wired in our UL listed workshop with a standard medium base household socket. We have installed it on our recreated single light fixture that mounts on three chains. While these lights were originally produced just before the true Art Deco era, they would have nicely graced a home from 1920 to 1940 with authentic ease. The frame has a nice pewter finish. The vintage light pink crackle glass shades are also in great shape. VERY Distressed Arts & Crafts (Deco) Primitive Style Fixture Older Arts & Crafts (Craftsman), low ceiling, lighting fixture, circa 1920-40. But...the iron frame is VERY distressed. While we worked it over...the condition is really quite bleak. If you want something that looks hundreds of years old...from an old, dank castle...this would be it. Cannot tell you how long we labored over this, trying to bring it back from rust city...we're gonna lose on this one. It now contains a double socket combo, and the windows all have MICA panels...and really...it gives that really distressed look, if that is what you are after. Yes...it has been totally re-wired in our UL shop, and contains a double socket combo. It is quite safe, and to UL standards...but the exterior is rustic, to put it mildly. We know there are places for a light like this...perhaps a wine cellar...or a primitive display, etc. Measurements: * Width: 13 ½" across the widest points. * Height: 7 ½" The bottom panel is secured with two fitter screws. Excellent for a lower ceiling where substantial light is desired. They could, if desired, be mounted with a pull chain for off/on at the fixture. Or, they can be used with a dimmer wall switch. While they were produced just slightly before the true Art Deco era, they would have nicely graced a home from 1920 to 1940 with authentic ease. The frames have a nice pewter finish. Circa 1920, these fixtures were originally sold both as a close ceiling fixture and with a stem for a longer drop. These chandeliers have been totally rewired to UL code, with new sockets and wire, and are ready to grace a lovely home. Each socket is fully capable of 100 watt incandescent bulb. Measurements: * Height: 5" * Diameter: 13" Each fixture fastens directly to a UL approved electrical box by the center finial. All mounting supplies will be furnished.
