Gorgeous antique Louis XV intricately hand carved armoire, circa 1850, from Europe. Solid walnut with oak paneled interior. Beautiful original, beveled mirror. Lower drawer. All original hardware. Warm brown original finish is in exceptional condition (the pictures do not show the rich patina). This would be a stunning addition for homes with 9' ceilings! The armoire is made of sections which are bolted together for moving (most large furniture of that era could be disassembled). 98" tall at highest point in front; 84" tall in rear; 44" wide; 23" deep.   « Less

Features: A gorgeous solid cherry wood Armoire with excellent craftsmanship. Both doors have two raised and recessed panels. Very cool locking mechanism with skeleton key. These doors are above a lovely carved apron that sits on split scroll feet that look original. This Armoire retains its beautiful, rich, original color & patina. The inside is empty except an unoriginal shelf. Condition: Fair condition - shows signs of age and wear, wood splits, top panel needs repair, lock and hardware needs some tightening. This Armoire is an outstanding example of fine, 18th Century French Vintage Craftsmanship. This beautiful piece features classic hand-carved details, adding distinct quality and unique personality. It is constructed of solid French Walnut, with rare handcrafted detail, including curved cornice, curved double doors, panels, trim, upper cornice and lower valence. The original hand-forged hardware includes 6 large Bronze Cremone Hinges, a beautiful Bronze Door Latching mechanism and Key Plates, including an authentic, 100% original Antique oversize Skeleton Locking Key.
