Set of four, Classic Sheraton style side chairs in mahogany. Slightly curved top rail, the "arcaded" backs have paneled tapering splats with fine carving. The simple seat ends in slightly back-curved rear legs and straight tapered front legs with spade feet. Fine original condition, re-glued and re-polished. Contemporary upholstery. Superb set of six American New England bow back Windsor chairs with saddle seats in black. Each chair measures 18.5 inches to the tip of the saddle seat and 38 inches to the top of their bow backs. Two arm and four sides. Made from pine and ash wood.Mario Rodriquez cabinet shop was in Brooklyn, NY. Mario is one of the Countries finest cabinetmakers. He used traditional hand tools and techniques to hand make these chairs to look exactly like the originals. They are strong and extremely comfortable.His work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Country Living, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, Hudson Valley, McCalls, Fine Woodworking and the New York Times. Handsome Continental high back fauteuil, featuring a high, square back and seat covered in an early tapestry finished with brass tacks and edged in an undulating fringe. Beautiful carved walnut, molded and shaped arms, finely turned arm supports, legs and stretchers. Fine dark and light ( where finish is worn on the arms) patina, the frame has been lightly cleaned and re-polished. We have also re-tied the springs to give the upholstery an even look. The tapestry is in over all good condition with a hardly noticeable two inch split on the seat and fraying on the rear top edge which we believe is easily fixable. All original. 45 " tall x 22"wide x 33" deep with a seat height of 20".   « Less
